why? seriously, why must you make other ppl feel bad? they have a blist for a reason, if they got you mad, dont spazz at em, blist em, stop acting like your 2yrs old and stop using homosexual slurrs agenst ppl, im sure you wuldnt like it if some1 did it to you, so why do it to them... cmon ppl, grow up! learn some manners, and if your unable to do that, stop playing FFXI if it makes u mad, take a break, FFXI is NOT life!

im sick of immature ppl putting other ppl down becuase they are new players, maybe they wuld be better if you actully help them learn instead of putting them down, and just becuase they dont have the good equip you do, doesnt mean they suck, maybe they have reasons for it, maybe they dont play much becuase they dont have all the time in the world, so my end statement, if everyone just stopd using racial slurrrs, calling ppl "fag" or "gays" or even swearing to them, i find it inpolite and if u must do it, plus /tell your self and do it, 1 less person doing it is better, less bad comments on ppl will make eveything better one day >.< (i know this wont happen and you may flame me becuz you may think im a pussy or w/e u wanna call me, but i dont care, im REAL sick of ignorent ppl who think they better then everyone else and has the ability to put ppl down cuz of it)

well, vang, what did you learn? let me answer, GMs dont do shit to help, NVR trust anyone thru MH trading (do it up front all the time), so it was YOUR fault you lost em, you carelessness and stupidity of how u decided to trade, dont blame anyone else, you should know ppl rnt nice in the game and will do anythin for money, all i can say is go do your "farming" and get new boots and NVR do it agian :twisted: *i do feel kinda bad, but nothin u can do about it*

i agree blackmagik. to the first part, well, many people have written many many books on such things. the reasons are many and varied.
long and short of it is, some people dont care, some care but dont think, and some both care and think but dont act.
at any age, from any culture, some people make a habbit of making other people feel bad.
most of what you mentioned however, the slurs and swears used, well, "fag" is commonly used by those in the early teen years no? perhaps they will grow out of it, perhaps not. if they were ahead of the game, they wouldnt use it at all even at that age. you know as well as i do though that Not everyone is "ahead" of the game. this is just life.

as for ffxi is not life, no it is not. but it Is a medium of social contact isnt it?
and life if anything, is a series of events and social contacts.
anything people remember in a "normal" face to face social encounter ought to apply just as much to each and every log-in to the game. unfortunately, then we begin to get into the grey areas of "faceless" crimes, and the leeway that such "virtual" encounters give to our consciences.
all that people who think as you do can do magik is to Want such changes, and pratice living it as well as they can. to pass such thoughts along to others so that some who may not quite "be" there yet, may have sparked in the back of their minds the thought that "there may be another way". (whether or not said people actually change doesnt matter, and shouldnt be expected; that can only come from within.)
all that is important is that people Try.

Valid points all round but there is never a real excuse to put someone down... all that is is undermining their existance and furthermore to say it out loud is to undermine their dignity... destroy it even. when you put someone down you put what they stand for down, you put their beliefs and all their experieces, the sums of their person, down. This is because they have a different view from your own and by putting them and thus their very existance down you undermine their right to exist.
Of course... this would be the most extreme possible view, most people don't take little insults to the core of their beings but they could and would have valid right to.

I agree ripping on new players is silly. Inexperienced players are actually one of the problems in the Dunes, but whenever I'm there with one and they make a mistake I politely send them tells with suggestions on how they can improve and sometimes check them and suggest armor they can get when they start leveling higher and have the money for it. I don't start slagging them in team chat and calling for the leader to kick them, which I've seen many times. Everyone starts somewhere. Show some patience and respect.

I use /tells too when someone is not standing behind a mob or doesnt know how sata works.I never ever use party chat for that kinda stuff.... except once but that was something different.

hmm i dont remember that, *thinks hard* nope, when i lvd thf, i had armor, but then agian, when i was THF i was sorta poor...and kinda didnt buy all the +1 items like ppl say u shuld, money was an issue and still is, but i dont remember not having armor :O nor saying that :twisted:
