People spamming about accounts being stolen

On a serious note, I will forget everyones name that steals an acct, mostly because I don't care who stoe someone elses acct. What I will remember is that I"m not giving my info out, and thats what people walk away from these threads...maybe.
 
Im in agreement with uzor and lavi. While there seem to be a lot of thread lately, it still important to let people know. If they do not they are opening the flood gates for more theft and robberys. Plus most seem to say it was there fault that dont seem like pitty to me. On the other hand to not be a bit upset no matter the way the account got stolen whould be odd. You spent hour upon hours raising a toon just get it stolen by some self center conartist jackass; I be abit obligated to let people know just what a lying ass this person is.

i dont see one person spamming any forum for that matter. no one willing to let the community hear about someone is going to do a search for the lastest "i got ass raped" topic and think "damn, well i gotta wait a few days before i get my spotlight"

making a thread in good intentions or not just seems like a attention stunt tbh. it's like saying "fuck i hate people who smoke weed, hmm.. well i'm going to make a room where they can all go where i can keep a eye on them all and give them shit for smoking"

If you lose your account and want pity, we will laugh at you.
However, informing people that both the THIEF -and- your char are now shady is a different matter.
I would not exp, socialize, or aid in any way an acount thief as either their ain or the stolen account.

Maybe we need a topic in NHW SPECIFICALLY for people to post Account Thieves with a mod making the OP and listing the names.

I'm officially done with caring for or even listening to these morons. I think I'll just laugh in their face while I'm having a hot pocket, even if they are trying to tell me something important (Considering I... uh... already know not give my account info away. lawl)

It's "this person is a scumbbag, avoid them."

Without having to look each and everyone of them up, can you name them?

Yeah, that's why I added "or even listening to these morons". I know, "community warning", blah blah blah. This hot pocket is too good for me to care am.
 
I think there really was a serious hacker attack on quezy, my friend was hacked as well but he got his account back. For all I know it could just be a bunch of stupid people who gave their password away. But I do think it was a group hacking to get characters because if you check IGE some of them may be there, after alll my friends character ended up there.
 
This thread has a need for its own subsection in the watch list. And for mods to move threads to it, instead of leaving them in general discussion. And not just theives, IGE'd characters too (Warning: level 75 on 3 jobs who has never played FFXI before and only knows what a macro is because the account came with them). I think that'd about cover the problem.
 
Yeah i was about to go suggest that.
Make a sticky topic with a list of all hacked/bought accounts.
Cant get on teh list unless the person who owns the account posts that its been stolen or we all happen to have seen ebay.

Some people still won't care, because they think other people could never steal from them. The whole "fuck you, that'll never happen to me" attitude is what prompts people to flame others just trying to give a warning.
 
I would really love to read someone who gave away their password make a post saying "I messed up and gave away my ID and password and the person I trusted used it against me, look out for my toon now." Instead of the feel bad for me routine.
