Ok what is up with all the people who tell you that you cant use that armor in my pty, or you cant use that weapon its not good enough for you your a stupid noob if you use that. People who tell others what to do are very much serious gamers, People should have the right to do as they please on the game they pay the money to play and as long as it is not hurting you then dont complain. 1 thing i cant stand is how people judge others on how high there rank is or what sub job they have, Example: Today in pty in dunes guy named kolid invited us to party, well we had him a thief, me mnk, blm, rdm, mnk, and we need a whm or another rdm, well he wouldnt invite the rdm seeking to his party because he was not rank 3 so this rdm was not able to heal this party because he is a noob having a rank 1. Please comment on how you have been told to do things and to play the game ways you dont wish too.

I think somethings are unacceptable, ie under leveld sub, not aproptiate sub (WAR/WHM), lower level gear that is useless (there are expception ::cough:: batttle gloves, leaping boots). I dont' judge on rank, but if someone has shitty gear, 6 or more levels below that that has nothing benificatial, or doesn't do their job right, I think I am allowed bring it up. I'm not mean about it, I try to offer advice, only when someone repeatedly fucks up do I get mad.

I'm a full supporter of "doing your own thing" but not in a PT situation, you pay to play the game, so do the people you PT with, no point in wasting their time cause you wanna be DRG/BRD or SMN/BLM. Do that for ballista, farming, soloing, but when you get into a PT bring a fully leveled sub, good gear and a semi-professional additude. Don't leave for stupid reasons, give a warning when you have to go, I ussaly do so at an hour and then again at the 30minute mark. Just cause you can do whatever you , doesn't mean you should....

If someone is a Paladin, in Kazham, using Lizard Amor...then these people need a little reminder of what's going on. Or if someone is playing Nin/Brd and seeking... you have to be wondering what the hell they're thinking. (I apologize if someone has found some weird way that nin/brd can own...first odd combo that poppped into my head)

I have absolutely no qualms with telling a person they need new gear in a situation like the one above, or complaining about a nin/brd O.o and then leaving that party. I do take this game seriously and do everything in my power to help the leveling experience go along smoother(organize SC/MB, lend people food if they don't have it, have good gear and buy food myself, etc). It's the elitist attitude that I find around the game which annoys me. I personally think my gear is pretty good. Currently I am scrounging up money for all +1 gear and/or the more expensive pieces(Morion Earring, Morion Thalthum etc).

However, there are people in this game who would bitch me out for not having this gear already. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a hard time making money. Yes, I can craft(which is minimal money at my lvls and would require more money to raise them), I can mine for hours on end, or I could farm for even longer. Personally, I don't have the time for this! I do it whenever I can, and hope to god I get a quick cash piece, but I don't want to spend all my time doing this! That leaves me no time to enjoy the game...

So, yes, there are certain people out there who need to be told a few things and in certain cases, quite a lot of things. But there are a lot of people who, like me, don't play this game like a fucking religion. So as long as we come with fully leveled subs, quality gear(albiet maybe not millions in gear), and we do the job we're supposed to do....don't complain.

I would just like to point out that your example was missing a tank. A nin or Pld or War would have been far more useful than another Rdm. As far as your comment about not hurting anybody, I HATE THIS. If you are using wierd job combo's or weopans because they seem "cool" then you are not just hurting yourself, but EVERYONE in your party. Those other 5 people with you? There are REAL people controlling those characters as well. From your example, it seems to me like the usual dunes mentality of "let's just grab the first 6 jobs we see and kill shit".

That's what I was going for. =P

well, for one thing... most of these complaints and cries are from experiences in places such as Valkrum Dunes, Qufim Island, all the jungles in Kazham, Citadel, Crawler's Nest... where mostly some players are still "nooby" or just new players. it's what you can expect from some of these players that are leveling in those areas. i don't expect anything less when i'm leveling any of my lower level jobs. i just ignore it because it's the "norm" in places like these. higher leveling will mostly weed out the noobs while some still seem to make it thru the cracks at becoming a Lv.75 whatever because of the demand of what their job is.

Those other 5 people are only hurting themselves by accepting someone with a questionnable sub into their party. No one's ever forced into inviting a tank even if he's the only one left seeking.

Suggestions are good, because we all stand to learn a thing or two here and there...But there is a good way to go about it. Then there's a way to go about it that seems like you are talking down, and you are above everyone else's level of play. Personally, I don't give a rat's ass what the person is saying if they come off like a dick. Let them talk. When they shut up for one second, I like to just say, "Fuck off."
It's pretty to the point, not a lot of filler, or sugar coating...Then you get to watch them stumble backwards as they realize not everyone has to believe the rhetoric spewing from their cakeholes...And someone just told them to fuck off...Hmm must have pissed them off. Then they usually come back with, "Your a dick."
Interesting. That would have been what I would say if I chose to say 3 words to you instead of 2.

Holy shit, I am rambling like crazy...ANYWAY, gobble gobble.
<See you again!>

I honestly could care less about what equipment the guys in my PT are wearing. As long as they play their job correctly. If you are not you will be told what to do, if you get mad because someone is telling you what the party needs you to do you should quit the game. As in another post of yours, there is no point in playing this game if you are not going to play it right, you depend on people and people depend on you so much so that the little problem can hurt everyones play time and experience.

Any idiot past 3rd grade can read a message board. Half the people who are so quick to throw around "suggestions" (read: flames) in a party are just idiots spouting off whatever the latest Gamefaqs/Allakazham round of oppinion might be. These people don't know why they say what they do. If everyone says Warriors should only level Great Axe, then that's what they'll fight for. When everyone later says every Warrior should keep a variety of weapons levelled for skill chain purposes, then like a good parrot, that's what the average idiot will profess too. There's no individual thought for most people. If a level 75 player or two started a revelation that rangers and blms were poor damage dealers and shouldn't be invited, I'm willing to bet rangers and blms would be sitting on the bench with the dragoons. Not because people can see with their own eyes, but because a high level player posted on Gamefaqs, so there can be no disagreement. Dragoons after all, are only subpar past 60 or so, but a few idiots got together and convinced enough people that they're subpar all of the time, and the sheep got inline and followed. Why should anyone take suggestions from some genetic hybrid of a sheep and a parrot? If the player can provide proof beyond "It's what the Japanese level 75 players do", then I'll do more than ignore them.

that happened to me not too long ago in valkrum. the guy told me that my armor was "unacceptable" because it was lv8 and i was 18. so i told him "well, good luck finding another whm at 4 in the morning" and disbanded. bwahaha!

Just wanted to clarify a bit. I do take advice in parties. I take advice all of the time. However, I don't take it blindly. If you care to offer me advice, you'd best have the reason why in the same statement. There's a huge difference for example between:

A: Ur a gimp n ur armr sux. Noob! (in pt chat, or shout)

B: If you had better armor (a specific example, perhaps), then the white mage wouldn't have to use as much mp to keep you healed, and you could be getting 4,000 instead of 3,000 exp an hour. (in tell)

LOL Codyf, you are new to the boards and already I know I am going
to love arguing with you. :P

I personally won't complain on gear unless it is a PLD lvl39 with lvl20 armor. (this did happen and i did complain)

"...as long as it is not hurting you?..." indirectly, it DOES hurt me and
the rest of the party. The tank goes down or whm overcures to keep
that cheap ass bastard alive then either we all die or have tremendous
down time.

so shit-yeah, I'll complain in that situation because IT DOES AFFECT ME.

Or if someone is playing Nin/Brd and seeking...

I did that combo 15-17 NIN for 2 days in the Dunes as an experiment, to see if I'd get invited at all. Don't know if it was coincidence... but... I got party invites as soon as I put my flag up, took party in a few 3.5k an hour parties as puller/downtime reducer...as opposed to the average 30 minute wait period that I had with my WAR subjob. :) I guess they were lookin' for my amazing Paeon... I dunno...
