People who are hypocrites

ok first off, who cares if she is a man or a woman, Zimm are you upset about the fact that you tried getting in her pants in a previous shell she was in? sorry it didnt work out... Im sick of all this tag team bullshit. We going to start handing out my own "you got served bullshit"

I dont know jeska, but what i would have to say to this comment is wouldnt his friends care that they had been lied to if he in fact claimed to be a she? If he's a he, then why not tell people outright? Why lie about it?

As for the topic getting locked? probably wont happen.

Its a flameboard, this is where flames happen. Since when is a flame locked because a flame happens to get really heated? Read the rules, none have been broken here.

As for telling me I have no right to "add to the flame" who are you to say so Jyakotsu? Are you to tell me there has never been a time in your life where you were backstabbed by someone you thought to be a friend, and then later down the road, seized an opportunity to get back at them for the worthless person they are? Unless you're perfect I highly doubt it.

The OP had a problem with Jeska acting like he knew everything, yet when he's given advice on how to play to better himself, he gives the typical "I want to play how I want" response. Players like that annoy people, and well here's the flameboard where you can complain about it...

Don't try to turn the flame around with a "Jeska is nice to me, so leave him alone. You aren't allowed to talk trash about him!". Seriously, who are you to tell a person not to speak their opinion?

And trying to intimidate or threaten me that my "rep" is going to be undermined because of what i've chosen to post in this thread? Do you think I care what people on the internet think of me? Are you a friend of mine? No, so I could care less what random people chose to think.

All i'm doing is repaying the "kindness" that I was once given. And evidently, it seems to be a big issue because otherwise he wouldn't have you coming here to post in his defense.

Thirdly your snide ass remarks are not called for timwakefield... you always pop in at wrong times on this board especially this time. I dont feel this is necessary... I wave to you in game all the time does that mean you going to poke fun at what i say? i hope to god not... Come on bring it!

Chill man. A) I don't give a shit about this flame or Jeska. I don't know or really care to know this person if such poor remarks have come from the two people I respect most in this game (Zer and Xean), who also apparently know him/her pretty well from the past. B) The picture wasn't even directed at you anyways. C) I'm a giant asshole. Its what I do. If one person got a chuckle out of seeing that picture, then I have succeeded, and I'm sure at least one person did.

Drop the fucking "OMG my friend got Flamed on the Intarweb!!!" attitude, It adds about the same amount of content to this argument as my "snide ass remarks" do. If my best friend was an asshole to someone, flame him, he probably deserved it. Stepping in and defending someone just because you know him isn't gonna sway a single persons opinion on this board.

"Oh, Jya says hes a good guy/girl, so it must be true"

Save the shit.

First off Zimm You a 13 year old prick learn to grow up and move on, she left your damn shell already so keep it at that...

"First" I don't care if Jeska is a GUY or a GIRL. The point was he/she needs to stop being a hypocrite and talking behind peoples backs
drop her/his little 2 faced act and let ppl play how they want if thats what he says

I do, and my fiancee, who was closer to (what she believed was) her.

To the people saying "who cares if she's a woman or a man", I will say this : I don't care about whatever sex you are, or claim to be, I really don't. But once you get my friendship and confidence, I expect you to be honest with me.

That is all what trust is about. Hell, I'd have played with Jes anyway if he said he was a guy. I just don't like when people earn my trust over lies. I don't see whats wrong with that.

That is all.

Here's the thing. Some people take this game to a roleplaying extreme. For them, the game is a game is a game, which means when they log on, if their character's a chick, they're a chick. Not everyone plays that way, and personally, I don't care for the people who take it to the extreme of manipulating people's emotions (ie: getting in relationships with people of the same sex when the other party thinks they're a sex they aren't). However, if that person chooses their game experience to be that way, and by not disclosing a personal real life fact of their actual sex they aren't hurting anyone, then what is the big deal? Do you communicate with Jeska offline? And if you don't, then what are you talking about "trust" and "lies?" for, like some terrible malicious injustice has been done? Has she/he been good to you/treated you well? I've met plenty of fantastic people on FF, many of them I will never meet in person, and I couldn't care less whether they are male, female, or somewhere in between. If they are good to me and treat me and others with respect, their sex has little to do with what they mean to me.

I don't know Jeska other than having met recently, and by no means am I taking sides one person over another because I don't know a lot of you in this thread. I'm just coming from a neutral position and saying, if someone has wronged you personally, by all means, get angry, don't speak to them or whatever. But there seems to be a rash of ZOMG you're a DUDE?! lately and it's getting old. So you don't choose to get into roleplaying to that degree. It's not your cup of tea, and it's surely not mine. But I don't think a question of someone's character should fall upon whether or not they choose to "play" a game as what icon they portray on screen or not. And it has nothing at all to do with what the OP is complaining about. That was my point.

Edit : I don't want a linkshell at war with me over this matter. I don't know you guys, and I don't like whats happening, so I'll just leave it at that. I wanted him to read our discontent, and know it, 'cause I know he posts here, and I didn't want to chat with him in game about it (my mistake for posting when I was mad)

It's off.

Unless you know for sure that the reason they are upset about isn't linked with how the person presented himself, you're response is void.

And I'm not saying I know either case.

Well I'm sorry this incident happened when others happened. I didn't choose to know I was getting lied at following a trend, I don't care about what happens in the Flameboard mostly, hence why I don't post in here a lot.

I don't speak with Jeska outside the game. That's a fact.

If he was RPing he's definitely taking it to a high degree, indeed. It doesn't bother you, fine with me. But it does bother us (me and myri). Just accept this fact.

Not everyone is identical. Some people are religious, some like to listen to jazz. Some people don't appreciate being lied at, some don't care I guess.

We've met a lot of players in this game. I can say I don't care what sex are most of them, because we weren't close. There are some we care more about than others.

Jeska is someone me and Myriana cared about. And Myri did a lot more than me. She talked a lot with him, she shared her feelings with him, she shared her experiences with him (you know, girl chat?), thinking of him as a friend (a Girl).

And don't get me wrong please Zyndara, I don't want to go on a war about it.
We disagree on this matter. Thats fine. I accept your opinion, I just exposed mine.

No one's forcing you to change how you feel. But everyone is jumping on Jeska's ass and there's two sides to every story. I respect how you feel, you're entitled to it. And I also respectfully disagree. And that's the last I'll say on the subject.

I think its a trust issue more then anything else. If your ok with being lied to, role played, w/e in this aspect, thats your perogative. However most people just dont like being lied to by their supposed friends. What about when real life discussions come up in the game? Who's to say that Arctus' gf wasnt talking to him about personal feminine problems (health or social) that a) she might not be comfortable discussing with a guy or b)the guy is not knowledgable about the situation but role plays anyway? (btw, this is all hypothetical).

If theres nothing wrong with roleplaying as a female, why hide it from your 'friends' for a year? There has to be some point in the relationship that a person could say 'hey, btw, im a guy and i roleplay a female'. If after that they dont want to be your friend for rping a female, then hey, your better off without them, right?

I know I added I wouldnt say more, but that's exactly what I was trying to say. Thank you. Translating my thoughts to english ain't always easy. I know my english might look good but I scruptuously (sp? lol) try to avoid any grammar mistakes before posting here, and I have to take a lot of detours and shortcuts to make my sentences make sense most of the time.

Anyway, Jes, I wish you a good ffxi career, but me and Myr are done with you, I'm sure you understand why.

Peace all.
Arc.

I had someone I consider a friend tell me after knowing them here for 6 months, tell me they were a male who roleplayed female. This is someone who was funny and reliable and whom I confided in and spent plenty of time accomplishing in game things with. They told me because and I would assume only because someone who "found out" got pissy and miserable and went to great lengths to trash this person's reputation. This person went through a great deal of stress over it, and almost quit the game. This good, kind, thoughtful and helpful person almost quit because someone got in a snit because they were a man playing a female character.

I planned to leave it where I left it, but you make it sound like I'm condoning lying. I'm not condoning anything of the sort. The person you talk to, who is kind to you, who is good to you, the person you call a "friend," is that person only a friend as long as they fit into what picture you have in your mind? Last time I checked, having a rack or having balls didn't dictate who my friends were or the conversations I have with them. But then again, if I were having a conversation of such a personal nature, I'd probably be damned sure I spoke to this person offline and knew them in some other context than a fictional roleplaying game, but that's just me. Again, to each their own. I can see getting all in a tizzy if this were someone you knew outside of FF, talked to on IM, something of that nature. But to act like they've done some horrible wrong by keeping their true sex to themselves is just not right in my opinion. I don't ask for a sex check before I make friends. And I just think it is a colossally shitty thing to wipe away everything that made you care for that person, everything that made you consider them a friend in the first place, solely because they choose to portray a man or a woman. Lest we forget, this isn't real life. I have a tail and cast magic too, does that mean if I can't do it in real life, I'm a lying bitch?

And Arctus, this isn't about linkshell warfare. I don't play politics, when I feel something is wrong, I say so, my linkshell, my friends or otherwise. Romp's someone I've known since I started this game, and I called him on something I found wrong earlier in this thread also. Since people responded to me and seemed to misunderstand, I felt the need to clarify my opinion. I think it's sad to see people judge each other to this degree, but it's not my friendships at stake. Regardless, hope you all can just move on, as this has blown up into something the OP didn't intend as he said pages back. May you both find better friends.

Sucks for your friend, but it probably could have been avoided if he was up front about it. The thing is, people can role play however they want, but if someone is curious, why not tell them the truth? "yeah, im a guy, but i roleplay a chick'. Then go back to acting feminine or w/e. The arguement that it doesnt matter works both ways.

Yes, the game isnt real life. But you know, when i play a game like this, i discuss real life things with my friends, as im sure many people do. I fail to see how speaking on IM is any different then in game; some people socialize in the game and it doesnt necassarily have to do with gameplay or mechanics. Lets say some guy does somethin to make you hate guys for a while; sexual herassment, w/e, and you just want to vent to a girlfriend; and this person turns out to be a dude. Or, to turn it around, your a guy talking to a rp female friend, wanting some female perspective on something. But instead, your getting some dude's opinion of a romantic date is a tub of nacho's and a hotel room at your local motel 8(exagerating but you see the point).

Imo, people that do this are either looking for attention, or trying to take advantage of those that are lonely enough to actually fall for it. If neither was the case, i dont see why there would be any hesitation in telling your friends that you are indeed a guy playing a female toon.

ok first off, who cares if she is a man or a woman

i dont care shes a guy

if he's a she then we have quite the scandal.

Its what I do. If one person got a chuckle out of seeing that picture, then I have succeeded, and I'm sure at least one person did.

You are correct ^^

Get a life

Jeska isn't a "she" fyi.

For the people that care about what sex you are in real life... they should ask the person playing the character!

Yes Jeska is a male... why should that matter. If you enjoy talking to him/her in the game.

the people that think you a male just cause you pick male when making a character, should go get there heads check out... or get into something called the real world, and not play the game 24 hours a day.

It is a computer screen it is very easy to head behind it. I can bet that half the people in the game do it at some point. I mean really just think about all the teenagers playing this game and useing names of the herors from books or moives. That is why they call a role playing game. !!Hint ;) Hint!!

I bet most of them use this game as a way of being good at something or hiding form the real world. After all it is all just a bunch of dots on the screen the someone program into the computer.

Anyway, Jes, I wish you a good ffxi career, but me and Myr are done with you, I'm sure you understand why.

Well, if it is because he is male... GROW UP!! :banghead3:

Hate to interfere with your little spiel there, but who the hell are you?
