I moved here from Asura. I didn't move to escape anybody, I just wanted a change of scenery. I didn't steal anybody's stuff or rip anybody off. I've made friends here over the year I've had a second toon here, and I wanted to bring my real toon over here. I like it here so far, much quieter than Asura is. I've met a some nice people already, done Dynamis with Limitless, and actually found time to solo merit on my Black Mage.

Asura's already been warned about Neolink, I've had people mention stuff to me about him, and the pitchforks and torches are being prepared as we speak. I've been followed here from Asura by only one person, and strange enough people already knew about him...

I've already received lots of warm welcomes, that's a nice change from Asura. When I left everyone was like "GTFO Quetzalcoatl!" even my own linkshell, albeit jokingly.

See this is exactly what I'm talking about, another person who is obsessed with other people's feelings towards them.

Asura has more transactions on the AH than any other server, Quetzalcoatl has the least. I do not value any piece of gear obtained from being in end-game linkshells. I do not value shooting the shit with strangers in a chat room.

lol wow. Actually, I've come to conclusions on my own. I'm no sheep, nor was I ever. Go ahead, ask on Asura who I was, and people will say good things about me, except maybe Orophinn and most of the linkshell Tribe. All I was told was watch out for this guy (you), so I did my research and lo and behold look what I found. I've had a toon on this server for a year. I knew what was going on here before you even know who I was. I've had friends here for nearly my whole FFXI career, which is pretty damn long. I knew all about you before you even knew I existed on this server.

Wow, you guys are completely blowing this out of proportion. You're acting like the entire server is going to spend all of their time monitoring any new recruit from a server, just waiting to drag them to room 101. The only people who should even go on the list would be people the rats who jumped servers to avoid their reputation, and I don't think that they're really going to be a large percentage of those who changed over; or at least I'd hope they aren't. I know I'm not really going to care about most people who joined the server, but those who stole stuff and transfered or just transfered to escape their horrible reputation I'd want to know about so that I don't get burned by them in the future.

Hell, we could just make a list, then go to the respective server's forums, although it'd probably have to be on KI or something similar, and only keep the names of those with bad reputations. So we'd still know who not to immediately trust, without hurting those who came over for positive reasons.

In the meantime, just monitoring intra-server forums will give a good idea of people who could potentially be problematic and if a huge flag goes off about someone then it can be brought to attention here or something.

Whats the worse thing that can happen?... someone ninja lot an AF item during dynamis or a 100 bynebill or during a ks30 someone suddenly disband party and get all the drops. this shit has happened before and might or might not happen with the new people coming to our server as much as it sucks to have a pcc drop during your orb and have someone steal it the person who had these things done to them, survived and the ones that did these things were ostracized .Quetz has some very strong ppl in it that will make sure that if of these new ppl gets out of hand it will be dealt with accordingly via flame board "blackballing" etc i say let these people come to our server their true colors will show after time one of these new people might be the person that starts a ls gives you a pearl and you may get that elusive item for a black belt or he may be the person that steals something from you or is just a shitty player. i /sigh sometimes when people forget this is a game and games are for FUN have FUN hope i made some sense i am not as well written as some of the qcdn all stars on the boards plus i just woke up, but again its a game play have fun don't fret over shit like this

"Our notorious thief Johnnyc left our server today. He stole a bunch of sea pop items from a linkshell called Periodictable amongst other things. According to friend list/ffxiah/somesource, he's now on Quetzalcoatl."

Then we know to look out for Johnnyc. It's not like we'd just jot down the names of every migrater and go to that topic and say "Here's our list, what do we need to know?"

Yes, these kind of people already exist on the server, but we also already know who they are. With the server transfers, someone like colbwa could transfer to our server and we'd never know. That's all this list is trying to accomplish, to bring to light people with bad reputations from other servers, otherwise the transfer is just a license to scam free card.

I've noticed that only idiots who really have no actual argument are the ones who say "this is a game, we should only have fun," like it's some kind of revelation and everyone aside from them doesn't have fun playing the game. No shit you play for fun, that's what everyone does; but it's definitely not fun to have some piece of shit steal stuff from you, or just outright fuck you over. This list is just to help ensure that people will continue to have fun, by not getting screwed by these players who have a history of doing this on another server and just wanted a clean getaway. Yes, you should have fun, but that fun should not come at the expense of other people's fun; and those who do that should be held accountable.

It's the same thing, just not condensed; they're still reporting known thieves/idiots who are transferring to another server. Rather than just a list of transferee's with bad reputations, now you can just scroll through a whole thread; the list would just be for convenience.

And no one is, no one's saying that everyone who transfers over should be treated like a criminal; the list should only be for CONFIRMED thieves. If you're going to hate someone just because they transfered over from another server, regardless of why, you're an idiot and you're likely not in any position to actually effect the transferee at all. The only ones blowing the whole concept out of proportion are the ones who think we'll burn transferee's at the stake and have everyone watch their every move.

Hell, even if we made a list of everyone who transfered, regardless of reputation, you could even make a case for the list would actually HELP those who didn't come to leave their reputation behind. They don't know who to trust on our server, but we could tell them and prevent them from being screwed by the remaining losers on THIS server.

A total list wouldn't be nearly as useful as a list of just offenders; but it would still be better than no warning at all. A full list isn't what I'd want, but the OP's idea was to list the trouble makers so people would know who not to trust; so there'd be no reason why it wouldn't be edited or formatted to show who had a good rep and who didn't.
