have a lot of people in general, not just from this forum quit the game?
seems impossible to find parties nowadays, and the English speaking player base seems even more sparse than before.

perhaps starting this game up again was not a good idea, but remembering the fun i had before makes me want to try

anyone have insight?

Solo to 20 it's better. Also a lot of people are leaving because the game is so old, and gives nothing new. Or so many people are doing end game now that they aren't leveling lower jobs.

It may be the server, but while I was stuck on Asura, I noticed they as a whole, they are much less advanced, if I may call it that, than Quetz. They have people doing shouts for ZMs and CoP and AF quests much more often than here. The game isn't what it used to be with people milling around in the 3 cities, but I think it's mostly because SE has changed the focus to areas like Whitegate, and also because there are fewer new people entering the game. Also, as previously mentioned, the game's getting old and those who have had it a while are doing more endgame. You may want to look into migrating to a less endgame-oriented server like Asura, or I could also be full of crap and not really know what I'm talking about.

Look... some days it's slow, and I can see why you'd be jaded after waiting a long time for a party, but I've gotten parties without problem at 10 and up, even recently (on DRK no less). Sometimes there is even competition over camps. And there are pleanty of players who don't have a lvl 75 job yet, you just have to look for them.

I have to disagree... Asura is not less advanced and there is endgame. There are endgame LSs as well and they are very active.
One reason why there are more shouts on other servers is because they dont have qcdn. This forum here is used to organise many things. Most servers dont have a forum like this and KI is not really a platform people use to plan events etc like this forum.

If you can't find a party you can at least ask someone if they mind duoing with you. I know a good bit of people don't like to level unless they at least have some people from their linkshell that is partying with them. I usually don't have too much of a problem finding a party on most of my jobs. I don't have level 75 yet and I like to level a lot of different jobs. It's just with all of the many, many job options people have now the amount of people in certain level ranges is scarce at certain times of the day. Good luck and I hope that you find some good experience parties.

People have had problems getting parties since the beginning of time. It used to be because of overcrowded camps and/or lack of camps, and now its because of "lack of players".

Find a static, level a craft, solo a little, farm while you seek, all of the above?

I personally blame a lot of the problems on ToA. With the release of ToA, experience became far easier to obtain and many people spammed jobs to 75. While the low level jobs didn't change (exp to mid-50's remained the same), people saw this as the quick method to get high level jobs and skipped all the "necessary" things such as proper equip, merits and end game. Now, most players have multiple 75 jobs and very few feel the need to level another job as most enjoy the jobs they have now and the remaing choices are not as much fun.

While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it is if you're one of the low level players looking for an experience party. I've found, it's actually easier to solo and if I can work it out, I can PL myself at a much faster pace than I can with a party to 37. Good parties earn more exp than solo and if they're really good, more than with a PL, but with players being so sparse, it's rarely the case. Try finding BST pets that spawn EM-T in your level range; they have very low HP and make for awesome exp if there are multiple in close proximity. That's mostly how I make my way to 37 (subjob level). Beyond that, I can only recommend the basic things which is make friends with people your level, find a static if at all possible, or find a friend or two to party with on a consistent basis.

This. Also Asura is a million times better for EU players. There's loads of endgame ran during EU evenings. Go tell Chroma and TribeFTW etc that they are less advanced than Quetz and see what they have to say :)

You also have to remember most of the shouts probably aren't happening during your playtime, or you simply can't read what they're asking for even if it is something you want.

Unless I missed something and the OP is playing outside standard times for his timezone/country/region, he shouldn't be missing too many shouts or foreign languages shouldn't matter as much. You'll get more English shouts during NA peak and more Japanese shouts during JP peak for obvious reasons.

QFT! Campaign is also another option.

Campaign is only an option if you have skills capped out. I'm afraid WoTG is gonna be worse than ToAU was for experience because of the lack of skillups during Campaign Battles...

This game is sad right now to new players and people with one 75 job only too.
Just as sad to old players who are taking their time with their first 75 job :o

I've been doing campaign battles alot inbetween parties. I'm a 62 Bard and I found that casting Barspells over and over plus songs nets me 300-450 exp every 5 min by speaking with the NPC every 5 min. That's a total of 3600-5400 exp per hour....

wow thanks for all the replies guys.

well Ive recently come back from a 2 year hiatus, i originally quit in fact.
I'm living in EST right now, and i find its even harder to play compared to when I was living in Asia tbh.

I'm sort of new to the whole soloing aspect to the game, and to be honest i suck at it lol. I've tried twice, once in Behemoth and another time in Yuhtunga off the crawlers but it didnt quite work out as well as I've read online. I'm using DRG so i subbed BLM to get the healing breath haha.

Anyways if anyone is interested in Duoing here my DRG is 42 and i'd be more than happy to try.

im waiting till i hit 50 before i even consider buying Treasures or WotG, not because its expensive haha, just because I'm the type of person who sometimes starts things on impulse, throws in time and money and then stops soon afterwards. And from what I've heard, campaign isn't entirely worth it till Level 60. i tink stopping for so long was really the problem, because now a lot of people are done missions as well.

thanks!

They need to come up with another viable Tank job to get xp parties rolling again, there seems to be plenty DD support and Healing jobs but with only 2 (maybe 3) tank jobs, its restricting

Yes, I believe there's a level cap on Exp for campaign battles...
