Perdu Wand

If it's LE is the same as the others, it's hidden effect is 5acc and 15att. Between that and it's delay, does this seem like a feasible offhand weapon for WHM? Moreso, does Brass Jadagna (D45, D46 for +1) seem like a feasible replacement for a Morgenstern? Curious for feedback.

I understand it as being in same family as maneater and blau, gives nice melee bonuses well tp below 100 and on ws, check out BG they had some long threads on the new perdu stuff but I was too lazy to read them all.

It has the Maneater hidden effect (I believe the atk is +15) of <100% tp and on ws so it's definitely a good whm club. I think I'd take Morgenstern over Brass Jadagna +1, though the freebie +vit is nice. You lose mp and the dmg isn't too much higher. And since whms don't exactly do an asston of damage to begin with, having those extra crit hits is probably more advantageous.

That Perdu is pretty bitchin, 39/216 is the best DPS we have access to. Normally I'd agree with the Brass Jadagna replacing Morgy (gaining 5 base at a cost of 30 delay is a pretty sweet deal), but that crit+ tips the scale back to Morgy's side.

Whm's pitfall as a common DD is a lack of access to +atk. Beefing up our DPS is great and all, I can't complain about the new clubs... but I'd really like to see another 50atk minimum on my whm before I can comfortably take it against (and still fatally lose to) a common melee.

would not the seawolf and "silverhook clubs" name? be better?

Sea Robber Cudgel has slightly better damage but has the default sluggish speed most hammers do. The -acc hurts, and the +5mnd isn't too useful, plus the slightly lesser base dmg of Perdu seems like it'd be negligable...Perdu Wand is, in my opinion, entirely better than this.

This one, however, I'm unsure. You lose out on 10acc and str by switching to Perdu over this but gain a good amount of attack, plus you cut off an entire 130 delay. You'd probably get a much better TP build off this setup but I'm wondering if it'd be worth the acc/str loss overall, since that can cause weaponskills to suffer quite a bit.

*late edit* Unsure what would give the best parsed results in terms of main/offhanding any of these with a Perdu, though I do assume offhanding a Perdu would beat Sea Robber entirely. However, Sea Robber mainhand has a higher max damage potential than Morgenstern but actually lower average...so...I dunno, so many difference things to consider. Seems like Morgenstern/Perdu or Morgenstern/Seawolf would give the best average output, though? Guess we'll hafto wait and see.

I'd be testing Seawolf/Perdu first and foremost. With a measly B-rating in club, every ounce of +acc helps to stabilize our Hexas.

It'll be a tough call between Seawolf/Perdu and Morgy/Perdu. Sucks that Sea Robber is so discardable now.

ahh ok understand some though the 5mnd would help your ws consideing hex strike main attribute is mnd.

if you wearing the mail which im sure most the whm are, then would not sea robber counter the lost of 5 mnd? So would not sea robber/perdu be worth testing when using harby. Then seawolf or Morgenstern be best if 1 handing with noble on, or seawolf/perdu on high eva mobs.

Hexa is STR_30% MND_30%. A loss of 5mnd is not going to make or break it as much as an extra hit from +acc would.

B-rated weapons cap at 250 skill at lv75. This means whm is inherently 19-26acc and 19-26atk behind most other melee's. Sea Robber drops acc another 5 points.

Robber/Perdu is worth testing, but I'd bet a large amount of money that Seawolf/Perdu will still win based on the difference of +20acc. 20acc > 20atk when you're fighting VT-IT, but for soloing or measly stuff then yeah Robber would likely outdo Seawolf.

I don't get it. What's the big beef against r.mail?

If I'm hexacannoning with a rdm and brd, I'd be a lot more interested in the 10acc. There's no real good DD alternative aside from maybe the Goliard Saio, and even then I'd keep r.mail close by in case of a whiff fest.

You don't cannon or solo on anything that's going to con high eva to you, so you shouldn't need +10 acc from your body gear. Eva is lol and irrelevant. -5 MND hurts hexas. If you really feel like you need acc, buy one of these:

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Tabin_Jupon_Plus_1

Otherwise, your trusty Noble's will do just fine and if you're feeling really saucy you can macro in a blessed briault for your Hexas (I don't bother). Speaking of Hexas, I need to go duo s'more yovras for my Light Gorget...

Soloing I can agree, but cannoning... what do you fight? Anything VT or higher, which I presume is what whms cannon on, 10acc & -5mnd > 1/tick refresh.

5mnd, particularly at 30% mod, is not going to noticably change your Hexa's.
But I am mostly talking out of my ass here, as I haven't hexacannon'd yet.

You have any merits into club? I'd be very interested to parse against you, with you in Nobles vs. me in Mail.

While building TP, the mail could have -500mnd and it wouldn't change your output until WS time. I'm shocked you throw aside +10acc so heartlessly, Rappa. Shocked.

Mmmm look at that hole...

edit: the Tabin would be a better overall choice by far, I can agree with that.

You guys need stfu and heal me, I'm about to Souleater.

No I don't have any club merits, just capped club. But sure, could parse it or whatever. Eating sushi and esp with a brd putting on madrigal, you shouldn't be missing much. Of course after the Tabin set was added, I've had my eye on the +1 so I'll probably end up getting one which I would use over noble's.

Reverend is OK for TPing in, I never really needed to acc for WS myself. I WS in Black Cote, but I'd like to get a Tabin +1. (Plan to TP in Nashira if it'd ever damn drop, til then I've used mainly Cleric's...never personally used Reverend since anything warranting that much acc had too high of defense to be worth fighting on WHM, even with attack food)

Seawolf/Perdu is the best for an acc/att build, but is it worth the 6% crit loss? I personally don't think would be unless you're trying to fight something that's way up there on the difficulty chart.
