Go back and read the discussion I had with him earlier here in SAF. From what you'll see (and you can't see everything) that I have clearly and extensively explained to him and all site users, citing rules and examples as I wrote, there was more than enough evidence to issue his infraction.
Now, there was NO question whatsoever about Lego receiving an infraction amongst the staff. Some thought the 14 day RO was light, considering history. When he left for his 2 week vacation, he left with proper warning not to continue with the trolling/spamming/threadcrapping/derailing that got him fingered to begin with.
So...When this particular user, in this particular situation (or anyone in a similar situation) comes back off a lightly issued infraction and not only continues as he was, but continues with intent, and manages to get all his posts reported and reviewed by the staff, the only conclusion that lies in front of him is the one that was previously spelled out for him by myself and by other staff members publicy and privately. He made his choice.
The fact is, Lego broke the rules before. He was banned (lightly) legitimately. Upon his return, he chose to intentionally continue the legitimately bannable behavior. It's more than clear to me, and to the rest of the staff that agrees on this situation that this is what needed to happen. This is, after all, exactly what he was told would happen if he continued. No surprises.
Being that this has already been discussed among staff in the forums, honestly, I'm surprised this is open for discussion. The way it was left is that is was not up for discussion. That said, this is being closed in that it is not up for discussion. PMs were encouraged previously, and they are still encouraged as a way to express any concerns about this situation. PMs will be answered, but I cannot make any promises that you'll be happy with the answers if all you want to do is whine about why he was banned and try to reverse the decision. Further threads on this topic will be deleted, because, again, there is nothing to discuss with everyone on the site publicly. It's not for everyone to cast a vote on who they want banned. Some users get banned and nobody cares. Sometimes people get all bent out of shape. You know what's different about the ways the banned users broke the rules (repeatedly) and received their infractions and bannings? Not much. Not much at all. Yet the reactions are always different. I find that interesting.
