I decided to try this out since I saw it on the new releases on gamestop. This has got to be one of the most addictive and original RPGs I've played in years. I can't seem to stop playing it. Has anyone else played through this? I'm about 15 hours into it.

Did you get the original version or FES? FES has about 40 more hours of gameplay, they added another Tarot, a bunch more Persona and some new social links.

I am tempted to grab FES since I could never find a copy of the original release.

Edit: During my trip to Fry's I saw it for $25. I had to get it.

I grabbed the new FES one.

It's a damn fine game. I need to grab the FES version before it gets hard to find.

Yeah 25 is the price of FES, which is a helluva deal for the original game with extras plus Episode Aegis, can't wait for Persona 4, hopefully not too long since it's using the same engine as P3 and also on ps2.

This game was one of the better RPG purchases I've ever made. I bought the original plus art book first around the 15th, didn't get very far (just past getting Fuuka) then FES came out.... I switched over and still haven't gotten back to where I was once was >.> This is one of the few games that I have very little issues with, except in FES the shrine was made nearly useless. It was slightly cheap, but still...

One fine game ya. Never really got to play it alot cause my sister always plays it.

Yeah this game is incredibly fun! I can't wait to try the new episode after I beat the game for the first time. I just wish I could control the other three members some times when I'm going through the floors. n_n;

How was it made useless? Unless you already had maxed charm/academics/whatever the other thing is from a save file from the original game, everything you could do in the original is in FES. There's more, even, since they added the relationship aspect to the fortunes you can draw.

Because it takes precious, precious time.
Time that you would have spent trying to build the relationship anyways; so you're not actually losing anything by using the shrine.

Then there's still no real reason in my mind to go there to get the same result, unless you either can't find the person or can't be bothered to go through the conversation. I also happen to like the conversations, so for me the shrine is pointless. I can see why someone else would disagree.

You can also get up to 10,000 yen from the same shrine; while leveling your relationship. The shrine doesn't take you to the next relationship level, it only works to build up the relationship to the point where the next time you spend time with that character, you'll level up the relationship. That's the only time when there's anything even remotely meaningful that happens with them anyways, the shrine just cuts down on the times when you have to talk to them and nothing happens; along with maybe netting you some cash.

Wasn't aware of the cash aspect honestly. That really is good to know, so I now have no further issues with anything in game so far.

Well, you can also lose yen to it as well, so it's not always a good result, but it can still be pretty helpful. Plus, the fortunes can have effects on Tartarus as well.
