Pfft! And people knock the WAR/MNK!

Should of posted this a while ago, but better late than never!

Below is a pic showing my dmg of 489 on a sturmwind. I felt it was pretty impressive because i've always heard people look down upon warriors who subbed mnk instead of NIN (I realize subbing NIN becomes important at later lvls and end game stuff)

Anyways I was in a party in CN as my lvl 39 WAR/MNK and at first it seemed my party was a little leery with me not subbing /NIN. I assured them not to worry, that my Great Axe was capped and that I had appropriate macro gear swaps from tanking to DDing gear depending on the situation.

Well as soon as we started going after Soldier Crawlers, my hits were usually hitting between 80-130dmg a hit, and I was barely missing any hits. Then when I went and pulled off my Sturmwind for a 489 dmg I had the party pretty impressed... guess people give too little credit for a WAR/MNK, especially considering that about 30-40% of the time i'd be doing twice as much dmg with my swings because of counterattack, and double attack (Really fun to see you hit 3 times in a row x_x)
On a side note I believe my Sturmwind regularily did 180-260dmg.

I have to say the party too was probably the best i've ever had in CN. The thf Icewolf did some awesome SATAs, the PLD kept hate well, our BLM/NIN did an amazing job (I had no idea the benefits of a BLM subbing NIN until that party O_O)

So yeah... for those who like to jump on the WAR/NIN bandwagon at these lvls just thought i'd like to show you that a WAR/MNK with GA can put a hell of a lot of dmg.

Worker Crawlers, while i was 3x i did around 700 Sturmwind
Soldier Crawlers, highest was 600

I use the war/mnk build. When the party looses its tank due to some circumstance.. we can actually tank pretty decently.. depending on how much mana power the party has xD <for a few rounds while waiting for the main tank to return or something>

Provoke>Boost>boost>provoke>repeat
Pretty much how you can keep building hate...
Then there is always Warcry for emergency "massive" hate generation xD

But i rather stick with DD then tanking ><;;

Congratulations i wish i had some screen shots when i was lvl'n i took war/mnk all the way to 42 before i had ever even unlocked NIN. I still miss the days of my great axe weilding galka. because not until you hit lvl 50 on war does dual weild really begin to shine cuz nin gets dual-wield 2. for the longest time i wanted to go back to war/mnk but with no invites i stuck with war/nin but now that i have rampage i just drool at anytime i get into a party

I had a war/nin solo tank GC as a whm and we did rather fantastic from 32-36 so I can't complain. We had dual war/nin for like... an hour? but then one had to go.. all in all it was fun... War/nin can tank fine if they are geared right and backup voke doesnt suck.

However, War/Mnk with G.Axe is just hotness. I don't like it as a tank (MP Sponge..) but it can work if no one else is available.. I've tanked even as War/Drg. War, the original tank, ftw!

I have a lvl 56 war/mnk and love it and always getting told you need nin but do i listen ? Hell no i tell whoever said it go to hell cause i <3 my war/mnk shes kickass! XD I did a damage one time on something for 645 and i was so happy.
