Phantasy Star Universe Online Open beta is now available for download in the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Demo will be available for two days only and the Beta will end at 12:00am Weds, Oct. 18th.

My Gamer Tag is Vendetta 25 if you wanna party up sometime.

im playin right now and its crazy confusing, i had to skip the tutorial cuz it froze my 360 when going through it, supposedly bugged atm so i just started a new guy and jumped right into it.

it took me like 15 min to find out how to go outside and fight and its still kinda confusing o.o;

Disclaimer: Played PSO and loved it.

That being said, this game was originally made for the PS2 and it shows, texture quality is low, definitely looks like all they did was raise the resolution. There's reports of slowdown as well when theres too many enemies on the screen... ugh.

It's really fun, but I can't justify paying $10 for it when theres already many other things out there taxing my $10 here and there like WoW :p

Also PSO's support and cheating issues of the past are really making me wanting to hold back, each new version was promised to have better security and content, which never happened...

I'm still going to play the hell out of this until the beta is gone :)

its hella laggy...
edit: and ive been disconnected from a server issue three times, tried to zone to the city port and it just froze at the black screen...not a good sign.

yeah its a beta test, think why they are doing it? to resolve bugs. i remeber wow did stress test on the servers this might be the same type of deal but not on purpose
 
I was just on for a while. I didn't experience any lag but overall it seems pretty boring imo.
 
yeh i noticed the boring repeatetiveness myself.
It wasnt worth the 4 times freezing during zone, the constand lag on any server.
and from what their site says its just a test for bugs, the game play now will be the same in retail...not worth it.
 
meh im still having problems downloading the damn thing. I understand it being slower during peak hours but shit, its been going all night and still not downloading. From what folks are saying, its not worth the trouble.. /sigh more wasted time.
 
yeah honestly, the same is not that great at all, i couldnt even see spending 5 dollars a month...i feel like ive seen all the game has to offer within the first 3 hours, ive done alot of beta tests for different systems...but this one takes the cake on the yawn factor..
 
Think some of these problems will layover to the PC/PS2 versions as well? I have been thinking about getting it but from the reviews, it does not seem worth the time and effort. (not to mention it's release date is also close to final exams)

And the original PSO was known for everything repeating over and over along with spread needle hacks. The black screen thing happened often as well with the dreamcast. Seems like they are still encountering the same bugs as the original. ;p
 
well being that this beta test ends on the 18th and the game comes out the 24th, i can be pretty certain it will play the same.

you guys may say it sucks but it looks like good old fashion PSO fun to me.
 
Hmm seems like the people that played pso love it while the ones that haven't hate it. They probably don't understand eveything involved with pso. Like yesterday I was playing with 5 others I asked who was playing as a Ranger, the idiot playing as the ranger laugh and said wtf. I had a twin gun that I was going to give him but fuck it.

the demo/beta is for 360 users only. The game will be out on PS2, 360 and PC though.

I have never played a PSO game and finally got to check it out a little bit ago. It's not that bad, but I didnt see anything so great yet either. kept seeing this one idiot saying "pull my finger" over and over and over again.. I dunno, I will play it some more and make a final judgement if I'll get it or not. I havent played with anyone or done anything special yet so hopefully next time I play it will change.
