Here's what you do... carefully coerce her into making a character ("Just make a character! You don't have to play if you don't want to...") then once she's logged in and has cracked a few mandragoras over the head, say something like "Anyway, I can always just use the character as a mule". Then buy the character one of those robes you can get at level 2 or whatever.

Tried that this very week-end. Created a mule and handed her the controller so she could just walk around: " But look at the graphics, are'nt they cool?" Answer:......... walks away!

Think I should send her some gils and bribe her into playing? :lol:

My wife pretty much hates FFXI, with a passion.
She's got a character, but really doesn't play. The Taru dance holds her attention only so long. I mean, if that doesn't work, I don't know...It's hopeless.
I'm thinking about /throat stabbing her character and saying, "Well what did you expect? You don't play."

Last night I played for an hour. The wife wasn't happy, but I just said, "I am playing for an hour."
It was 7 PM and she was all cranky that I wouldn't come and watch a movie and just be with her right then and there. I had spent the entire day with her too.
Just asking for an hour here and there. Sometimes I just have to take it.

Just print this out and hand it to her. I'm sure she'll leave you alone as much as you want after that. ^_^

Come on, people acting in houses drawn on the stage with chalk? I just have to look outside and watch the kids do the same thing!

Anyway, the Taru Taru dance, did not thought of that, I'm gonna give it a shot, might work.

I know the feeling about watching lame-o TV shows though.
It's like if I leave, I don't want to be with her...Um, no.

She started watching this show Desperate Housewives. :lol:
I caught about 30 minutes of it last night with her before I HAD to leave.
Although I must admit, Teri Hatcher is quite striking and if a show sucks, well, it helps when she is in it.

I usually don't make time for myself, especially if "Flo" is in town, but if I have been together with her all day and the night is young and we have no plans...A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. So I go and visit my Mithra for a quickie.

My wife rented that once, she actually turned it off after 10 minutes.

I am pretty thankful of my wife and her understanding of me. I spend a lot of time on the PS2 or behind my computer, but she learned that up front when we first meet, that is “who I am, and what I do”, but I also make sure we spend time together watching movies, or favorite TV shows together (even if I have seen it 100 times). Now I am trying to figure out how to work a baby into my playing schedule. That one is going to be a challenge. Think I’ll just give up sleeping, seems like such a waste of time anyways.

All our friends have their first kids now...Most of them anyway.
Actually, I should say all our couple friends (her friends)...And my friends are still single and party animals. :lol:

Everyone says it's tough, but of course extremely rewarding and fun. They wouldn't trade that life for their old life, so they say.
