Did you HONESTLY think PS3 would be released on time?

the deal was if they were switching recording mediums, then it wouldnt
Just like whenever nintendo switched formats (every console) you couldnt play old games on it.
 
All the interviews and reports I've read has stated that it will be completely backwards compatable. On 1up today they reported it will come standard with a 60 GB harddrive. <Sweets>!!! I was expecting the system to be released in the US around Thanksgiving and it still seems as though that is possible. The fact that they are now going to try to do a worldwide launch worries me. It would be quite possible to have another shortage on a high demand system. I am really concidering preordering two systems just to have one to e-bay and maybe sell both depending on the price they are going for and the games available at launch.

Right now the hold up is supposedly coming up with a standardized copywrite system for the Blue Ray disks.
 
I hate how Xbox fanboys are saying its the end of Sony. lol wtf how? Just cause they wont release it when they said? PS3 will still have games the Xbox wont have and it will have a much bigger fan base no matter what. I really doubt Xbox360 will beat the ps3 even with it been released a year early. Expecially with FF, DMC, GTA and MGS4 Ps3 only so far.
 
GTA isnt PS only, but we do get it a fair bit ahead of everyone else.
 
Go Nintendo! Not really, I only still bother with Nintendo systems because of Zelda.

nope, all of 'em.
also, im not surprised by the push back at all. however, i am surprised that it got pushed back that far. i figgured that sony was on the ball for once, and we would get it around christmas and japan would get it around summer.
Chpal: So many people (not just xbox fan boys) think that the PS3 is going to kill sony is because for once, the PS3 is not bringing something amazing to the table at launch. the PS1 had the first true 3D games, and the PS2 had amazing graphics. however, this time, the PS3 does not have absolutely amazing graphics, true 3D game play, or anything else of the sort. its only slightly stronger then the 360 in some areas, and in some its blown away by it. its using a blu-ray player, and we dont know how expensive this is going to be. chances are, the PS3 will be the rich man's console. third and finally, sony has said multiple times that they're not changing the PS3's online system, as in, it still sucks compared to the 360's.

you do know square has said to be making FF games on 360 now because of the sony HDD issue?
happened after they signed on the group that did chrono trigger too.
Which that group is releasing blue dragon. No word yet on what FF games are coming
 
FFXI obviously, but SE is still making games for ps3, they've already stated they're working on a next-gen FF title for ps3, no word whether it's XIII, or VII remake, or w/e.

Gogo 60GB upgradeable HDD, Full backwards compatibility, possible worldwide launch in November. Sony online service, although most likely will not be up to par with XBOX Live, still better than what the ps2 has. Now the only thing I'm worried about is price point.

And will it also be hard to find like xbox 360 was. I really don't wanna wait half a year after release just to get ahold of one. I refuse to camp out at a store or pay 3+ grand on ebay.
