PS3 PlayStation Network game releases

Tomorrow, right?
I'm gonna pick it up, it looks fun.

I'm looking forward to Pixeljunk Shooter, but I might hold out for the sale since I haven't played any of their stuff:

To celebrate the launch of PixelJunk Shooter and the holidays, starting December 22nd, the PS Store will be offering a 3-in-1 combo deal of Racers, Monsters *and* Eden altogether for just 19.99!

Pixeljunk to me is what as an ex big nintendo fan, this is the direction I wish they had gone.

Keep the high quality game design, and the artwork that looks good even on bad hardware(which they did), but put it on high def, and price it lower based on the low production costs.

Not a bad week. PixelJunk Shooter is the big deal. I'm also glad to see Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles on there. The version of Symphony of the Night that comes with it has better voice acting than the original PS1 version and includes other enhancements. It's practically worth the $15 just for that, but having Rondo of Blood as well doesn't hurt. Silent Hill Origins isn't too bad, either.

There's an update that allows PSP minis to be played on the PS3. I'd like to think this is a precursor to eventually allowing regular PSP games to be playable as well.

Am I assuming right that Pixeljunk is only on PS3 store? I am not seeing it on PSP store.

A tiny update is better than nothing, but Sony is listing Final Fantasy 8 as "coming soon." I'm hoping that means tomorrow or next week. I've got a PSP Go waiting under the Christmas tree, and I'd love to be able to put it on there right away.

I'm holding out for the 3-for-1 sale. When I get games from PSN, I also download them to my parents' PS3 so my sister's kids can play them. More bang for the Christmas buck.

I paid full price for Dracula X and Silent Hill origins last year. :(

Heh. So did I. At this point, my meager collection of 15 UMD titles is almost completely available on PSN as downloadables, although I've only double-dipped for Disgaea. The last UMD I bought was Crimson Gem Saga, and it finally made the list. All I need now is for them to release Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and Crisis Core.

By the way, we get the English Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo for PSP today.

Sweeeeeeet. Final Fantasy 8 this week. Now the wait for Final Fantasy 9 can officially begin. Europe gets Vagrant Story next week, so maybe we'll get it soon.

Hmmm... FF9 needs to come now :P fawk 8 (though I'll admit I'm tempted to get it just cause)

I had no idea 8 was coming out yesterday. I was checking the new releases on my Go when I got home last night and I got all excited when I saw the familiar logo. Took forever to download and install, so I didn't get a chance to play it yet, though.

I had a dream that the draw system was broken in the psp version and instead of drawing a small number I was drawing 40 spells at a time. Fingers crossed...

Europe got Vagrant Story today, but Square Enix is making us wait because we couldn't handle that much RPG-ness after just getting Final Fantasy 8. Instead we get PS1 "classic" Wing Commander IV starring Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell at their scenery-chewing best. I already own the game on disc, but I don't think I'm tempted to go downloadable for this one yet. See full list at Joystiq.

This is also the week we get the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed levels and water pack for LittleBigPlanet. Also, Sega is having a 40% off sale until Jan. 7. I think it's a perfect time to buy Sega Genesis Collection off PSN; I have the UMD for it, and it's a good anthology.

PlayStation 3
Battle Fantasia ($19.99)
Polar Panic ($9.99)
PixelJunk 3-in-1 Pack (Bundle) ($19.99)
Wing Commander IV (PS1) ($5.99)
LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (Demo)
Peggle (Demo)
Polar Panic (Demo)

PSP
Savage Moon: The Hera Campaign ($9.99)
Aedis Eclipse ($9.99)
Me & My Katamari ($19.99)
Football Manager Handheld 2010 ($23.99)
Wing Commander IV (PS1) ($5.99)
Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! 2 (demo)
Army of Two: The 40th Day (demo)

PSP minis
Bowling 3D ($4.99)

I'm thinking of picking up a PSP go and mainly using it for PSone classics. I'd like to get Vagrant story. Hope it comes out soon here.
