I'm s'posed to be coming back on the game in a month ")... or so... or maybe not at all. :( and my fienc'e(sp?) is wanting to start up on the same server.

And so that I can sorta save her on the lag (when I played on PS2 it didn't seem to lag as bad when I played on PC [jeuno-wise])

So what would be the best way of getting a "old" PS2 for FFXI?
I know that I can get FFXI with the harddrive on some website.

well......I'd check and EB games or Gamestop.....even Walmart.....I know that the walmart in our town still sells the harddrives and the gamestop in town has the old ps2's....... pluse the also had a few ps2s that had the hdd with em

not mention that if you did find one of the ps2s at a gamestop that did have the hdd the one here sold for the same price as the others.......

I got mine from a local Blockbuster, but that's only because one of the workers there plays it alot. Also, why not look on online stores? Meybeh Amazon?

ps2 lagging less than PC ? o.O
actually yes ps2 lag way less then pc. anouther question though anyone ever had to tranfer there hdd to anouther ps2 and if have is there anyway you can save the info on the hdd?

I have the game for 360, PS2, and on my laptop and desktop. My recommendation, since not everyone has 2 GB's of RAM like me >.>;;, would be just to go get a PS2 version from your local toy's-r-us. They're almost guarunteed to have it. If they don't, the one by me has like 20. :o

You can transfer it but you have to reformat the HDD, if not the new PS2 won;t let you access the HDD. I had to do that when my origanal ps2 "Had it since US release" took a shit on me. After you reformat you have to install the game and download the updates. Took me about a good 3 hours to do this.

My friend Craven had his house burglarized. The bastards took his PS2 (what kind of sedimantary filth would do such a thing to a man) and he had some trouble replacing it. I believe he went through Ebay and ended up getting one within four days of bidding.

Another friend bought a new one after his wife threw his old one out (Hmm, guess I just answered my above question) for 1 penny on Ebay!

I don't know where your from, though I'm sure it's in your info that I didn't look at, but in California KB Toys always seems to be a good 6 months to a year behind the power-curve on new and fun stuff. If you have a KB in your town, you may want to try there. Also a lot of record stores around here buy games and systems and other things of the like. There's always 4-5 of them at the local Dimple. If your search fails, PM me and I'll Fed-Ex you one.

Edit: Additional info

Additionally, Macros are client side. No way to save them to a file and swap them out later on a PS2 like you can on PC. You have to go through the hellish process of re-writing all of them. Takes me forever to do personally.

I'm from California... I just moved to the north part of it though.

I'll probably look around at the toy stores and check the game stores. As for the HDD... I'll just ask if they have it at the stores that I would check above... if not. I'll just buy the HDD online.

The expansions she'll be needing can be bought in the stores.

Oh... also I'm not really wanting to buy a used HDD or used expansions... cause well... you need to use the key codes for them.. and it'll just really suck if they don't work.

Vondoom... I'll PM you and ask you some questions

Last week my PS2 crapped out and I had to get a new one. In my area EBgames had a plethora of the old school thick PS2’s. $99.00. They had a selection of refurbished and used/good condition ones. Sadly the refurbished one I got would not read any dvd’s… the used I got the next day is working fine so far.

Oddly when I was looking for TOA I went to a local Toys R Us. The one in Sacramento had a FF11 with HDD for 69ish. Not many people go to this Toys r us so I bet it’s still there.

Yo... an update on my search of the "bulkly" PS2...

I found a bunch of them at the GameStop in my town.. and they have tons

The only thing is that I have to order the HDD online but thats no problem
