PLD AF3 nearly inaccessible as of now

The Zvahl Baileys coffer appears to be dominated by a small 5 man team of RMT, two thieves and two ninjas, as well as a WHM supporter. They spread out across the area and farm the coffer key drop mobs solo (one per area), presumably just doing nothing but farming the coffer keys.

The THFs just run around picking them...

All this for scrolls of Mage Ballad II (20k'ish at best?) and Rare, slow selling.

But yeah in an attempt to get my PLD AF3 last night we found that there were hardly any coffer mobs up, and everytime we found a coffer it wasn't a matter of seconds before one of them ran by us and popped it.

Anyone else trying to get their PLD AF body, good fuckin luck.

That is some gay shit. I'm glad I didn't have troubles getting mine. The key took a week to drop though.
 
dude i got my rogues culotte in the hay day of astral ring farming in oztroja, i hope to hell u can handle 5 rmt
 
Well for one I have to farm a key seeing as I'm not a THF =P

You'd have to farm the key anyways and pop as pld. THF would get Rogue's Vest then ballad II or others. I know what you're getting at though.

I was told you could pop it as any job as long as the quest is flagged (?) Maybe not... but yeah.

Maybe maybe not. As long as the job doesn't have an af piece in there maybe. You're better off going pld because that is 100% guaranteed to work.
 
If it's part of a quest, you can open it on any job(AF Hands, DRG Kuftal Coffer, etc.) If it's just there as coffer AF with no quest attached, need to be on the job that can equip it.

As for opening on a Job that has non-quest AF in the same coffer, Quest/Key items always take priority.
 
PLD af3 coffer is a part of a quest so technicly you can pick that lock and still get a the mamicks Paintbrush

If it was a straight peice of AF like gallant legs then you would HAVE to be on PLD

But since its not you can get that coffer any way you want

Mirewen and I had no trouble getting her brd af in that zone a week or two ago, must be a new thing they just started doing. Hopefully like other seller fads it'll wear off and they'll do something else soon enough.
 
They also do it because of Demon Horns/Ahriman Wings, but...yeah, seems they're really grabbing at straws to make gil now. Funny enough, they've driven down the cost of both of these items to only 20% of their former value due to their stupid flooding of the market.

This seems to happen alot last year when I was trying to get my af there a thf was heading for the chest and ignoring our partys say's of 'Coffer please leave for PLD' they didnt seem to be rmt either just some thf's desperate for a few extra gil, I heard the song used to sell for a lot awhile back.

Used to, now it's rather worthless.

Well safe to say I got lucky. This time RMT saw me gunning for the coffer and started going for it too, with a considerable head start. Lucky for me they couldn't pop it cause they had a demon's elemental on them though. xD

Thats right they've only been there for the past few weeks. I am a avid farmer of that place. They have really screwed up the prices of items that come from there.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right but...
If your saying YOU HAVE TO BE THE JOB that the AF is when opening the Chest. Then...

I can tell you with a certainty that's not true I picked all my AF(chests) for BRD on my THF. ^^ Didn't even need a fucking key. ^^

Yeah I got my bard something or other (pants maybe?) from there in the astral ring days. After running around for about 4 hours watching for the coffer I found it in one of the small rooms by the big door, with an invis thf right by it. Horde Lullaby > macro for key > warp scroll before the thf knew what hit him.
