Can't go wrong watching a game at Wrigley, maybe as part of a pre-game. I've only been there once, and can't really quote any of the shenanigans we got into (mainly because I was pretty intoxicated), but I had a blast.
Tim... I have lost all respect for you...
Well we are going to split everything 7 ways so it shouldn't be too bad and we are only going to spend a weekend. I already know a couple places like Gino's East, Lucky's Sandwich Company, Al's Italian Beef, Uno's, and etc as far as places eat are concerned. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything better. Clubs don't need to be the most fancy in town just a great place to drink, socialize, and maybe dance. Hotel wise we would just like to stay at a place where we will get our money's worth. Activities of course will be stuff like going to the top of Sears Tower, visiting Wrigley Field, and etc. I just want to clear somethings up.
Uno's sucks. No it really it does. Just like Connie's Pizza and Lou Malnati's the ones that people know outside of Chicago. I can't say much about Gino's as I've never had it. I live in the SW suburbs and I think the closest Gino's East is in Woodridge for me, but I know Uno's, Connies, and Lou Malnati's are just terribly disappointing pizza.
If you want to try deep dish or stuffed pizza my favorite for that is Baracco's although their stuffed and deep dish pizzas are small it's still the best to me. Full restaurant in Orland Park and Evergreen Park.
For pizza I always recommend Fox's Pizza. They seriously have the best cheese pizza ever. Throw just a bit of salt on it, and have it. Of course other toppings are good as well, but the cheese is just so good I don't know what it is about the cheese pizza. This is specifically thin crust as I can not recall a time where I have had their pan pizza. There's a location in Orland Park and I think the original is still open in Palos Hills sounds right.
Everything around Wrigley will be over priced. If you want to go to a ball game go see a White Sox game. The beer is about the same price, but the food is better with a larger variety. The tickets are generally easier to come by too as well bleacher seats are 25 dollars which I highly recommend the bleachers as you are closer to the concourse that serves basically everything.
Honestly Wrigley is shitty. Yes it is shit. They've basically turned that neighborhood into a giant place to hop bars it's trying to rip off Fenway. This has been true since the Tribune company bought the Cubs back in 82 or 83 when the Cubs weren't that good. So the Tribune company marketed the old stadium rather than the team. They would make a synthetic demand by selling their tickets to ticket brokers then buy them back at a higher price to sell themselves at a higher price which lead to prices in the stadium rising.
Giordano's>Gino's East IMO
I havent been downtown in awhile so i cant help ya on any clubs or bars there.
If you goto the Sears Tower, you def gotta check out the Ledge
http://www.theskydeck.com/theledge.asp.
If you do goto a baseball game, I would suggest going to the Cell instead of Wrigley(GO SOX!), unless you like pissing in troughs w/ about 20 other drunk people lol. Tecnically, you can goto both just by taking the red line
Come on Toqabowl you should know by now that Giordano's is only ok. They're pricey for pizza too.
Also the Sox and Cubs are hardly in town together. You should know that as well. MLB will shift when the teams are at home a lot to avoid having them in town at the same time. They do this for the Yankees/Mets, Angels/Dodgers, and I think Oakland/Giants since they're right across the bay from one another.
