Well I do have to agree on the post for the majority of it, I really hate it when people use all sorts of abreviations and in my oppinion is not more convinient, it's more retarded if you ask me.
I really hate when they abreviate everything people feel abreviating, in game there's a lot of them, linkshell names are oftenly abreviated, long names are oftenly abreviated, but what I hate the most is the overlapping, or people that love to talk in 2-3 letter abreviations, people who say "PD" instead of saying [Perfect Dodge] in translator, for god's sake it's one or two more keystrokes and EVERYONE will understand it, Japanese and English speaking people alike.
I have to agree sometimes abreviations are needed to not make text redundant, stuff like "Notorious Monster" is easier to refer as "NM", but this abreviation is somewhat universal, not like "NG" which sometimes "No good" or "North Gustaberg", or "CC", my "favorite" which can mean "Courrie Carrie", "Counter Camp", "Caprishious Cassie", "Cross Counters" and a lot of other crap that people feel like abreviating.
Many people say it's "context sensitive" butnot everyone can set the context, and I ask, "is this how you writte at school?, how you hand in your essays an reports?" seriously, I wanna see someone hand in an essay with a bunch of abreviations for words they felt abreviating just because they felt like it.
One thing more, when people read abreviations they tend to read them by the sound of their letters rather than saying what it means, "CC" is read as "C-C" rather than "Counter Camp" or whatever it means at that moment in time and context, "give me an R2" this is a perfect example, when it should have been "give me a R2" because it's "Raise II" you use "an" only when the sound of the next word starts with a vowel.
I know I don't have perfect spelling or grammar, and truth is english is a second language to me, and not even on my first language I speak or write perfectly, it's understandable for everyone, but many people just like to abuse.
I apologize for any spelling or gramathical error.
