Just thought about when I used to use AoL I think.. not sure been soo long.. you used to be able to stop an email after you sent it as long as it had not been checked(similar to FFXI delivery system) and I was curious if that was possible here? Just thinking about a PM I sent that is sorta no longer valid.. wishing I could stop it before being read. :/ Ah well to that but just curious on the idea.

as far as the php code in vbulletin goes, I don't think it's possible.
I think your wrong about how often it would be used 
I used the function a lot when qcdn was phpbb2. not only did it allow you to cancel a PM after it was sent but you also were able to edit them if you caught mistakes. Obviously, if it is a real pain in the ass to install, don't do it... but if its an automated installation, I think it would be worthwhile.
