With some of the more big-name games out now, such as Brawl, GTAIV and Mario Kart Wii, this game's release was somewhat unnoticed and overshadowed. However, after having a chance to play it, I found it's a pretty worthwhile little adventure game.

I failed to get the previous Mystery Dungeon titles, but I'm enjoying this one quite a bit.

For those who may not know about the concept, it's not the typical Pokemon game, where you play as the trainer aiming to be the champion. In this, you *are* the Pokemon. You begin with one partner, and can recruit (instead of catch) more Pokemon later into your party. With your team, you go on missions helping others, or catching Pokemon criminals.

Gameplay-wise, it's a rather simplistic overhead-view dungeon crawler. Using moves familiar to the Pokemon series, all the fighting takes place on the map. Type differences are calculated the same way as they are in the traditional series. Such as Normal moves being ineffective against Rock. The dungeons themselves are essentially square grids, and it has turn-based elements. Like if you hold still, for instance, hostile Pokemon in the area will also. They move as you do, the same is true for fighting them. Your attack -> their attack -> partner's attack, or something to that effect. The dungeons are also randomly generated every time, for a little bit of good ol' unpredictable fun.

The attacks have varying ranges, like Tackle can only hit something that's right next to you. However, you can find a bunch of items to lob at enemies to help with battle. That pansy-ass Doduo is trying to run away and you can't get in range? Just throw an exploding rock at it. Badass.

I could go on, but mainly just wanted to build a thread for those who also picked this up and/or are interested in it. Post your friend codes if so. I'm sure we could have fun rescuing eachother from the dungeons if we're KO'd. You register your e-mail in the game and people on your friend list can send you an SOS if they fainted in a dungeon, and need rescuing. It's pretty funny. You can trade and stuff, too.
