POL cancelling question

What happens to your account when you cancel?

Does your gil get reset to zero?
Do you lose all your items?

Can someone who has cancelled and returned in less than 3 months verify this info for me please?

as long as you come back within 3 months everything should be fine. i will be returning for the second time shortly and i hope i have everything. last time i cancelled i came back and even had gil in my inbox from the AH.

Do not erase you characters just cancel your content ID's and you will have your stuff when you return. I have heard anywhere from 3-12 months of inactivity before your characters are erased by SE.
