How long do they keep character information after you cancel an account? I'm pretty sure it's either three months or a full year.

I'm trying to kick my account up every three months no matter what but my retarded self can't remember my damn password. Plus I looked NoizyTribe up on the LS community and I'm not registered for them. So I'm fearing my character was deleted. So any news will be great. Until Monday though, I'll be locking my account trying to remember my password.

yeah its a year, supposedly, some people have returned after being gone much longer than that though.

I believe if you only cancel your ID, your character will remains, but if you delete your character and ID, SE give you a duration of time before they perma removed your character. I guess is like a death roll thing, since no one know how long it'll be... some say 3 months some say 1 yr, who knows

You have to actually delete your character for this to matter. Cancelling the POL ID and not deleting will keep your character around indefinitely.

Yeah you'd have to be gone for a substantial amount of time for them to 86 your character I think. IMO the "3 Month" thing was a scare tactic to get you to fork over $12.95 every 3 months "just in case".

I've taken breaks, and seen others take breaks, far longer than 3 months and had no problem restoring their character, so don't fret.

I took a break for about 1 year and a half (cancelled ID/Chars/etc. etc.), installed POL/FFXI for shit and giggles and guess what, my chars were there waiting for me in jeuno lol :).

All right thanks. I intended on playing again anyway. Going to finally try and kick Maats ass. - I'll keep all that in mind for next time. Thanks!

I was gone for almost 4 years and when I came back my plants were still growing in my mule's MH.

I've come back twice, after 6 months and a year respectively, and my character has been fine with only canceling the ID, not deleting the character.

Yea I took a year break and came back to my character with no problems

I was gone for 2 years....and I got my character back...its all a matter of luck that they didn't delete your character and determination to try to see if you can reactivate it. It also takes skill to remember your PoL information after such a long time lol.
