POL New: another 1400 accounts suspended / terminated

Nope. The correlation is that people see RMT and can't compete so they use third party programs to win. So for RMT to win, they start using third party programs and/or create more accounts thus encouraging more sellers/cheaters. At least that was my take; however, even so, I've never seen anyone besides sellers cheat anywhere so I'd think the opposite is the correct truth, sellers encourage cheating, not the other way around.
Claim/Flee hacks have been around since before RMT ran rampant, and shells on our server have flee hacked Jailers, there is absolutely no RMT competition for Ix'Aerns. I don't think I've ever seen a RMT with a Deed or Virtue in their bazaar.

I wasn't saying that cheating promotes RMT, I was just saying that's what I think SE means by "We would like to take this time to remind our players that the use of any third-party tools will not only destroy the in-game balance, but will also encourage RMT (real money trading) activities."

Talked to a xgm who i know and he said only way they found of speed hacking is when you zone and says "unable to enter zone" and every one of those goes into a book and they look into it.

I find this kind of confusing. I play strictly on PS2, adn I've been unable to enter zone twice in the last month because I've been KO'd right as I cross the zone. How would they be able to detect the difference between someone using a hack, and someone who just isn't fast enough to escape links?

The thing is SE doesn't have a clue who cheats and who doesn't unless the GM sees it first-hand and even worse, it's a judgement call by a GM who doesn't even play FF. GMs are so stupid, I called one and had to explain in graphic detail how Quu Domi and Mee Deggi spawn because he didn't understand a bit (didn't understand it even after I explained it) so that he would process my GM call which by the way, never got resolved.

This is what happens when you outsource for customer service, rather than host them under your own company.

What's more likely is people like Chasym may have been accused at some point of speed hacking (probably just stupid people who don't know about w.legs, or even an old bug related to w.legs, as in Tyrath's case) and didn't know about it, which set a "Movement-Related Tools" flag on his account - and when the last crackdown rolled around, they took that flag and turned it into a suspension.

That's why I was banned. For "fleeing too fast".

I was on my drk/thf fleeing inbetween Argus and the Leech King. Pissed off WSM with some bats and he called a GM.

Maybe 30min later while I was fleeing to the Leech King, I was sent to Mordions Ghoul. I still had flee active while inside the jail, for maybe 10-15sec until it wore off.

3 years and the same RMT still exist, you can't possibly believe they are doing their job.

This may be a case of going after the traffickers instead of the dealers. Just a thought.

Not really. If it was so easy to find someone guilty of cheating, these 1400 and the previous group would have been banned when they were first found cheating. SE is just trying to appease the user base and if it means killing "innocent" people who had been previously found guilty of breaking ToS, then so be it. The thing is SE doesn't have a clue who cheats and who doesn't unless the GM sees it first-hand and even worse, it's a judgement call by a GM who doesn't even play FF. Unless SE starts mass banning RMT, I will never have any faith in their actions. 3 years and the same RMT still exist, you can't possibly believe they are doing their job.
they arent accusing innocent people. sorry, i dont believe that. if you read through the 50-60 page banning forum ontheorderls last time, most everyone was guilty that got banned. i dont buy the 10% that say "ive never done it".. sorry.. im sure a few mistakes were made here or there as that can happen, but... i doubt they'd kill off "potential revenue" .. you know, it takes awhile to sort thru 625,000 accounts and logs for months.

sure, people get accused daily of speed hacking-- i have in friend games that were GM'd for speed hacking-- and it was because of w.legs and etc. but did they get suspended/banned? no.

theres more to the story than that.

I thought you were banned for MPKing gil sellers repeatedly.

I have been a very nice client since the begining, I don't have anything to fear about retaliation from SE.

But, I'm preocupied with them running the ban-stick around on assumptions only...

That is what their resolutions look like.

I wonder how many japanese and low lv accounts have been banned.

No. That's what I assume I was banned for. They gave no 'direct' reason why. So yes it could be the mpks too. I will never know.

I was banned for violating the PlayOnline User Agreement and Policies.

See, I'd believe you if the people who OBVIOUSLY cheat were banned too. I've seen a lot of gil sellers speed/warp hack and not one of them has been removed. All the people banned were normal players and not a single gil seller. How am I supposed to believe SE when their only customer service is a bunch of GMs outsourced to another company that never takes action even when the crime is blatantly obvious? It's a half assed corrupt system and I can't put my faith in a broken system, it's as simple as that. Like I said, unless SE mass bans RMT, I will never have trust in thier actions and that includes banning supposed third party programs.

GM'd for speed hacking--? So they were suspended for 72 hours?

There is a difference between a warning and a blatant 72hr suspension.

Come one, somebody must have got the boot this round, I want names!

So how many gilsellers were banned? Sorry didn't read rest of thread.

And SE needs to stop moving on to more bans when people(me) haven't even got their letters yet!

That's the problem, if a person just says:

"Guys, do you mind if I go watch a movie that I downloaded illegally from the internet while we party? I have windower, so if there's any problems I can just alt-tab back to you to help you out. Besides, I have a BLM party bot playing me in the party, and in case I get hate I'll just use speed hack to run away from the mob, so don't worry"

LMFAO

who said that >.>
