Yes, you should be. But apparently gil can still be sold, and thus holds monetary value, and thus needs to be taxed... or something ~.~ I'm not sure how our politicians think.

haha that is pretty amazing i have to say, i didnt even realize something so farfetched could be thought of. It's almost like taxing you now for money you'll earn in the future working at your job, since technically you'll be working there and you will work the hours to earn that money.

In that case, the politicians should then tax you now for a good $1.5 mil if not more since you'll theoretically achieve that much money at one point.

Of course yes you hold the gil now and its quite different but still, its equally crazy. :D

Congress actually was considering this, but it wasn't a Bush administration plot last I checked. You can't blame everything on Bush.

And incidentally, I think Skeith is on the right track there. He's right; legally we have no ownership of our characters. We're arguably just renting them from SE. Much like a tenant that improves the apartment in which he resides, we are not eligible to sell or receive income from the sale of our characters.

Legally speaking at least.
