POL NEWS : New Items Galore! (12/13/2006) AF3 ???

My initial thought was COR - PUP - BLU Relic armor for dynamis but after more thought I'm not sure if they are ready to release that stuff. I'm hoping its crafted gear, and I hope it's actually worth having and not some fancy shit that no one would ever wear cuz theirs far better stuff still in Sky.
 
Unless the update is really huge which I doubt, it won't be anything exceptional. They are probably either crafted like you said or obtainable through IS/Assault (my bet), but it's highly doubtful it'll be superior to any of the elite standard now. COR/BLU/PUP relic will just be the same as the current AF with different skins so it's definately not that. The middle body piece does look a lot like MNK relic, but that might just be coincidental. The first looks like plastron, but I doubt it will be DRK JSE since they have so many as it is. Third isn't like anything I've seen so far, more of like an amalgamation of several pieces.

It's common sense, why is this so hard? Why would COR and PUP get completely different armor than anything else they can equip just because one peice of armor looks slightly like BLU AF?

the plastron gear. the black set (cuisses/sallet/sollerets/gadlings). and then all the rest that everyone else has...

they dont need a 3rd set.


im with what other people said, its probably af2 for the 3 new jobs, although i wish monk would finally get a JSE set. :(
 
Hmm....so many possibilities. In my opinion it is most likely gear that's geared toward certain job classes. Honestly if it isn't that and it follows current equipment heiarchies and classifications it's either JSE or AF3 (I -really- doubt it's AF3). As for the assumptions that these equipment sets being AF2 for the new jobs I'd have to say no....they look nothing like the AF1. They don't even look like pirates or mages.

As for aquisition of this armor, I'd bet it has a lot to do with salvage - assuming that comes in the same update. I have no idea what the crap salvage is yet, but it's the only major thing mentioned thus far as being new content being added in this update. I remember an interview that I watched way back - months ago. In this interview one of the developers said they were working on an Aht Ugahn version of sky/sea.

Perhaps this equipment is aquired much like the gear from sky with abjurations. We don't even know what we get out of salvage, perhaps that sort of thing is what you get if you do well in it. Other than that there's always rewards for merc rank or assault points.


On a side note - I've been out of the high level loop for a while now between my break and current low level leveling. Is this sixth assault point that was mentioned confirmed or theory? Thanks.

Plastron is part of the black set, lol. That's the only true drk jse set and to be honest it totally blows nuts, though it's cool looking. Black Cuisses onry please! Other than that, the few other drk only items (vampire cloak, demon's harness, etc) all suck.

Mog lockers do nothing for gear swapping space. We need more gobbie bag space, like 10-20 more spaces.

Never said it did, but the number of people who need more than 60 pieces of gear for a single job is ridiculously small; if they even exist at all. More total storage is the much larger concern for just about everyone.
 
Just to note, the mithra could possibly wearing PUP AF aswell =P!

NIN could use more than 60 easy. Specially if they have toolbags and loose tools for all of their spells on them in the party. There are a lot of NINs also. Course you suck so I can understand why you would never have invo problems on your own NIN.

Yeah, and your knowledge of ninja is how high again? The only way a nin would have anywhere near that many items used would be if they had a bag for every element of the wheel and a free stack of wheel tools as well; which if you're doing that after late 50's you're and idiot. There's not enough gear for them to need to carry to even care about inventory space; I swap more gear on monk but I still don't even come close(37 carried atm). The only job I could see might be black mage, but only if they carry all 8 stave's and obi's on top of a fuckton of other gear, rather than just the 2(thunder/ice) that they'd actually use. As for your completely uninformed opinion of me "sucking," lol@you.
 
Baja, I carry a ton of NIN tools, bolts, ranged weapons (Bomb Core and xbow), bazaar two items minimum (in hopes that someone might buy it), echo drops, occasionally other medicines, a stack of food (sometimes two), a stack of BS, a stack of KS and at least two full gear swaps and multiple weapons. If I want to party, I want some space for crystals, item drops, and seals, but there usually isn't that much.
 
I hope that this DRK stuff, is more easily obtainable/cheaper then all that other JSE, would make me feel alot better anyway.

What level nin? Unless you're spamming the wheel, you don't need to carry around those tools, so that's 12 slots free that you won't need. I do tons of gear swaps on my nin too, but I still don't have a problem with space; you're still not using 60 slots since as you said you have room, just not much. Sounds more like people can't manage their space more than an actual need for more carrying capacity.
 
Well normally those that do suck don't realize it. Just the fact that you think NIN doesn't have alot of gear or need all that stuff proves it, or you rely way too much on having a THF to SATA you for hate. Well guess what, not every party has a THF, so if you aren't prepared you suck. When I play NIN I am lucky to have 4-5 free spaces open, and that is with MAX invo on everything.
