POL News: The Starlight Celebration is Almost Here! (12/14/2006)

They did this a few years ago, right? I remember I joined right after the xmas event, so everyone was like "Ooooh the chrismus event was da kul, we fot trees that wur big in da towwwn!" and I wuz like "NU WAI! I wunna du dat. HAY LUK xmas is HUR! HAY whur are da trees??" yeah.

I wanna kill a giant tree.

But NOT before I climb it to stick a Tarutaru with its Arms and Legs sticking out in a penta-shape position due to rigimortis at the top to use as the Christmas Tree Star...You know...just to lighten up the mood and bring out that christmas spirit within us all...

Wait...Thats not right.

you weren't allowed to fight them if you didn't talk to the moogles >.> I remember running around exping while they were being ganked and then my ex and I were like "let's try it!" so we tried, wouldn't let us, then we learned we had to talk to moogles, oh the death.. silly invincible trees of doom. So much fun :P

Actually from my experiences you are wrong. I was running in South Gustaburg towards the Leaping Lizzy spawn area and I saw two people running towards me and behind them was the Twinkling Treant in hot pursuit. I attacked him, hit him twice, and he proceeded to kill me quickly.

The closest moogle I needed to talk to was standing right infront (east) of the rock tower in the LL spawn area. You could most certainly attack him without talking to the moogle first. Were you over level 20 at the time? I know the cap on the event was level 20. If you were over 20 then perhaps they wouldn't allow you to attack, otherwise a level 60+ could probably have done some very serious damage to the treant.
