You have been connected to SER Gene.
SER Gene: Hello, Timothy, thank you for contacting the PlayOnline Information Center. Just a few moments while I review your question, please.
Timothy Ferris: Understood.
SER Gene: What happens when you attempt to view the cutscene.
Timothy Ferris: It does not activate like it should. According to a couple friends of mine, it is supposed to trigger as you enter the vicinity of the teahouse. I also tried talking with everybody there, in case they were mistaken, and that didn't work either.
SER Gene: Have you already done the quest?
Timothy Ferris: No, it is still "activated" under my mission log.
SER Gene: Have you attempted to delete the mission and attempt to get it again?
Timothy Ferris: Unfortunately, this heralded the same result.
SER Gene: Please attempt to run a check files to ensure that there is no corruption within the game files. If nothing comes up, the next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the software.
Timothy Ferris: I had attempted this on at least three different copies of the game, which also heralded no solution. I own a PS2 copy, and it did not work there either, and I had a friend of mine try it on his PC.
SER Gene: So you attempted it from three different locations?
Timothy Ferris: Two of them being in my house, and one being elsewhere.
SER Gene: Did the GM make sure that there were no issues with the mission?
Timothy Ferris: The GM had told me there was nothing he could do, as they cannot trigger or complete quests/missions for us. He did not tell me if he knew there were issues with it.
SER Gene: Also, have you setup your router for portforwarding. It could be a blocked port that is not able to access the server correctly to trigger the cutscene.
Timothy Ferris: I do not use firewalls, as they're not necessary under the right conditions. I use firefox, and a few add-ons which don't let keyloggers on your PC. For extra security I also run several scans before I login to avoid this, so I don't use them.
Timothy Ferris: So yes, they are port-forwarded and the firewall is off.
SER Gene: The next option would be to contact a GM and inform them that you have contacted us for technical assistance and there are no issues because the issue can be done from multiple locations.
Timothy Ferris: Are you certain they can actually resolve this issue? As it seems, GMs cannot do very much, and I doubt they can assist me any further.
SER Gene: We have no control over in game missions, etc.
SER Gene: They are the only ones.
SER Gene: Since it was able to be reproduced from another location, that does indicate it is not your system that has an issue.
Timothy Ferris: So are you saying that I was lied to by someone I'm supposed to trust with issues in THEIR game?
SER Gene: I do not feel that you were lied to. They wanted to eliminate any outside possibilites first.
Timothy Ferris: Then wouldn't it have been logical to ask me to either re-install the game or try it elsewhere?
SER Gene: They do not have the technical aspects of support.
Timothy Ferris: I'm still not feeling very confident in their abilities right now, as this isn't the first time I've received no assistance in bugs.
Timothy Ferris: But let's say I contact another GM and explain this to them. What if they still can do nothing?
Timothy Ferris: Am I supposed to be deprived of content that we've been paying for for 3+ years?
SER Gene: You can also attempt to check the files and possibly uninstall and reinstall the software to also attempt to resolve the issue.
Timothy Ferris: I'm tired of repeating myself. Thanks for your support, but this is going nowhere fast. The problem lies therein of the GMs that are paid too much to do nothing. Fix the corruptness/laziness, and that solves almost every problem.
Timothy Ferris: Good day.
