Polearm

Maybe he is loosing potential dmg on paper. But obviously it works in reality.

Partied with a JP SAM/DRG with a polearm about a year about at bird camp and he was amazing. I'm not easily impressed but this guy was a walking bird rapist. I know for sure he didn't have any uzukane but he had some atypical gear specifically for this type of setup (I wish I remembered what, I just remember it not being something I usually see SAMs use) and he made the other excellently geared mnk and war in the party look like total pussies.

It's definitely NOT something any SAM can just grab a polearm and be awesome with. (Had a friend do that and he wound up switching back to GK cause dmg wasn't as good). You need the right merits, food and almost a completely different gear set then GK but god damn was it awesome to watch.
 
you need .. accuracy and enough store tp ( 52 stp per melee and ws hit). So you can do it with

- sushi and 2 hachimam.

-either DRG sub to compensate the accuracy, and some poelarm merits, and 2 hachimam peice for 5-hit. But then you lose dmg by not subbing war, in particular. Expecc 90% hit rate maybe 95%, 19% haste with wyvern earring but no /war.

-either sub war and full polearm merits with 2 hachimam. expect ~80% hit rate 14% haste, but /war ( I'm still confused about the 85% of earlier).

- a mix match of those ( partial 5 hit like earlier).

- usukane is the most powerfull of all because it gives a full 5-hit, and maximize haste and accuracy ( caped acc max haste with poelarm merits, just have to use body and feet then. 90% acc 17% haste w/o merits, need full usukane).
 
Now with 6/8 Polearm, Cuchulain's mantle and a Toreador's, I'm doing a lot better.

Previous accuracy was 80.55% with Madrigal.

In a party with Madrigal/Minuet/March/March I hit 91.54% accuracy.

Penta's average was 1129.1 with a new high of 2043. Although I'm pretty sure 2~1.8k Pentas were a result of DA+Angon. DRG/SAM parsed 36.36% and I was at 34.37% on SAM/WAR.

Basically the way I see it now, I'll use Crab Sushi if I don't have Madrigal. A few upgrades like 8/8 Polearm, Usukane feet/body, Love/Ancient torque and a Black tathlum will help boost my accuracy closer to 95%.

Other than that, I'm still missing a Tomoe, Hissho hachimaki, Bandomusha kote(Sticking with Ochimusha), Amir/Usukane feet and a Shadow Gorget for Penta Thrust.

I had a feeling you were parsing during that party lol.

Edit: By the way, if you don't mind me asking. After I went afk, I stopped my parser. Did you change anything gear wise during the time that I was afk? You parsed about 3% higher when we started back up again after I got back.
