POLNews - GM Policy (12th December)*Update* - continued from the other thread

Then you got idiots like bajaratt and yourself that seem to think anyone who don't have said armor is gimp.

Way to assume what isn't true. If you're that dire to grasp at threads to keep your arguement floating, go to bed. "make yourself asleep."

Just for novelties sake, I'll reply to the rest of you "points."

Demand for the less effective armor goes down, the next tier group of people that can't afford Item#4002 can afford the next best thing, making them better as well.

and what do you think parser does? It hurt the house. It make people uniformity, it make the latter armor drop in demand, while the better armor go up in demand causing economy and overcrowding problems. Then you got idiots like bajaratt and yourself that seem to think anyone who don't have said armor is gimp.

All parser users = elitists. Gotcha.

You do realize that this would happen regardless as it does on EVERY MMO ON THE MARKET, right? Some things work better, people make it their business to know. Whine and bitch about it all you like, it's inevitable. The parser didn't have any influence one way or the other on the market as the elitist mentality and gear combinations have been around since all but day one for anyone on this board who isn't playing the JP client.

The nature of your argument (read: whinning) goes against the nature of gaming. You find what works best.

A bot performs it's duties regardless of a person being around or not. A Parser without someone around doesn't yield anything.
A bot can not attack the mob, someone has to be there or they die. A person has to move the person into zone/area in order to use. A person has to sale the item that he yields from fish botting. Yes you have to attack A mob, but you do nothing else. Yes it provoke the mob for you, but you do everything else.

Oh yeah, it's the parser's fault that people want the best gear and are willing to pay for it, it couldn't be that people want to be good.

You were a fucking idiot for not getting the superior armor that you could have easily bought or traded your inferior armor for. Don't blame me because you chose to gimp yourself when there was a quick and easy solution that you were too fucking stupid to see.

At least we can all agree you don't bot. Point one for you. Everything else in this post is full of fail. At least pretend you have some kind of clue wtf you're talking about.

You'd have to ask some of the botters(Chasym?), but I'd be surprised if there wasn't an option to automatically engage the mob. Regardless, it's still carrying out it's function without you present at the controls, saying that it's doing nothing else is completely irrelevant.

Such naivety in this post. Go away. You have no fucking clue about what you're arguing over.

A bot can't attack a mob? So, people can program a bot to automatically provoke, but not lock on, autofollow, and attack? Jesus Christ, you're dumber than I expected.

Big fucking whoop someone has to move the character in to location. Afterwards, they can spend the entire day at their grandmothers while camping NM-X.

"A Person has to sell (what they get)" - You have to be fucking kidding me on this part.

This is why you always see gs end up dieing because they don't engage the mob. Parse analyze the data for you making no extra work for you. You can go on your mary little way never having to worry about writing anything down or calculating anything. Also allow you do entire parties, pets, acc% and anything else you wanted to do which normally would not been able to be done without using any other devices.

I already showed you what a log looks like. I already told you how you could do all the math while in a party - without windower. You chose to ignore it. You're an idiot. Just because a gilsellers bot doesn't do it doesn't mean all bots don't. You're a gullible piece of shit.

A bot only does what it's told. That being said anything you can type a command for in the game can be scripted/botted. Mobs, however, don't alwasy have static reactions. Thusly you see sellers dying because their bot missed a beat in the fight whereas a person would not have.

Mystifying, i know.

I never said any of that dumbass. Hell, I've repeatedly said that as long as you have decent gear, I don't care; no where have I ever said that you have to have top of the line gear or your gimp. If you hadn't said that you had a hauberk, I would have suggested armor to wear instead of a hauby. Instead, you were asking what obviously inferior body armor to wear rather than take an incredibly easy solution of selling hauberk or trading it to get a hauby. You were choosing to gimp yourself for 10 levels because you were too stupid to just trade the item.

The ONLY high price item I expect people(monks specifically) to have is a brown belt by level 50; and only then because you can quest it. Get back on your short bus.

nah that not the case because I see it all the time. They don't have it scripted in there. My guess is they can't for the same reason you can't use 2 abilities at the same time. Also good amount of the time there is a person there behind the machine, they just using mutible accounts so there action are not a fexible. Just like back in the day when you mpk a fish bot and the botter will run away. Parser you are not doing the work of annalizing. Using a 2nd pc 2 log it is just as bad as using parser. I didn't ignore it, it just as wrong.

Your lack of knowledge on the subject of bots is astounding. Hell, i've never even used one but i understand the basics of how a computer program works at least... you're on another level, man.

Ok, again. By your logic anything you obtain in the way of information that is not personal experience is ill-gotten. You didn't do the work running around looking for a quest npc, you didn't do the work to get your crafting skillup list, you didn't get the map you're looking at on atlas, FFXI does not have a skillchain chart, etc, etc. Can you honestly tell me you've never used someone elses knowledge for gain?

I seem to recall a thread where you asked for exactly that that sparked this whole mess... What's the difference?

No you dumbass, when are you going to understand what a parser does? YOU are the only one who can analyze the data, the parser just displays it in a convenient form; making it easy to read so you can analyze it. A parser does not magically pop out with "Haubergeon is better than Osode for meleeing," you have to analyze the data to make that or any other determination.

there a difference though. quest, craft list other stuff you pull from places like somepage are from players experiences. Parser is from your own experience and your own personal gain. When you information get out from using 3rd party program, it then hurts the gaming community as a whole because you are messing up the economy, nms, crafting, all so you can be less the 1-2% more efficient. Which is why I said dmg has already been done. Everything has already been parse to death and is partly the reason we have half the problem in game. GS mass camping is the other half.

Fixed.

Got the first part right.

The damage was done before there even was a parser, the parser only gave the community a solid ammount of data to confirm what everyone already knew. In short, you're late. Not only are you completely wrong about it damaging the game but it can't even begin to be explained to you as you can't grasp the concept of the whole of the argument. It's beyond you, just stop trying. If that's your take on it, great, just shut the hell up about it already. If bliss is ignorance your life must be orgasmic.
