I'm wondering if anyone has tried to play as a Beastmaster, under level sync conditions. Considering using Beastmaster as a support job doesn't scale down the level value of your Charm ability, does level sync?

Short version: Does Charm stay at its real-level value? Could you charm an Incredibly Tough enemy and have it last the full duration? Yes, I'm aware that even doing so results in killed experience, but it has potential applicable uses elsewhere.

If you're on game tonight I wouldn't mind testing this. Kind of on topic, I was doing Under Observation last night and I went in with my relic AF. I have to admit...Reward showed a significant boost when I used it with my Monster Jacoat (sp). I'm thinking they didn't nerf the "enhance" abilities on AF with the level sync which makes me really happy.

I'm no BST, but didn't they remove this feature where you lose EXP by having a pet charmed? i'm sure i read something in the update notes a while back about there no penalty for having a pet when you killed a mob.

EM and below, but anything T+ and there's an XP penalty.

"All pets other than wyverns will vanish when Level Sync is activated. Any monsters charmed by a beastmaster will be released with enmity intact, so care should be taken to ask them to "Leave" before activating Level Sync."

Meaning, you're going to get killed by your pet. (The usual demise of a Beastmaster.) Unless, you're trying to test something different. I don't see how level sync would ignore your charm value. :x Good luck testing.

I think what Skaw meant was the following:

When you're on another job as /bst, for example rdm/bst lvl 60, and your TOTAL bst job is lvl 75, there's a theory that your "charm value" corresponds to a bst75, even though you're a 60rdm/30bst at that time. However, if you were 60rdm/30bst and your bst job was only at lvl 30, you'd have a "charm value" of a bst30, which means you'd have a more difficult time charming stuff with that same sub.

In short, people believe that if your using bst as your sub, your main lvl in bst affects how well you'll charm using it as a sub.

I don't think that's entirely accurate with your first part (or I may just be reading it wrong), but completely agree with your second part.

Let's use your example:

Your BST is 75, and you're leveling up your 60RDM /BST, your "charm value" will be that of a 60BST. When you get 61 62 63RDM, your "charm value" will be that of a 61 62 63BST.

Yeah, that's what i meant, up to 75, sorry =p

I'm playing my lolenglishismy2ndlanguage, brazillian card right now, kay? :p

But the idea is just that, you'll be charming as a 60, in this case, as long as you have bst as a 60 or higher, even though you're using it as a sub.

Due to old LS ties, I'll let you play that card... this time :anxious-1:

I'm not talking about charming before level sync, but afterwards. I'm simply curious if SE somehow forgot to modify the "Charm Value"of Beastmaster after the effect of Level Sync has been applied, and if so, if a side effect is a charm with the power of your real level as opposed to your faux level, allowing you to keep harder monsters under charm for full durations.

And Miros, I can't be on the game, anytime, since I quit months ago. I'm just want to see if Beastmaster aspects had been ignored given the new additions, like many additions outside of Merits and huge time sink weapon/armor acquisitions.

Ahhh, I'll test it out when I'm free then and let you know how it goes.

It'd be fun if calling a jug pet at 75 then level-syncing let it stay at the original level.

Exo and myself have been duo'ing here and there. He is now 37, and I'm 43, so I know the level difference isn't quite what you have in mind, but I've had roughly the same charm/fail rate that I usually have. Maybe if I can sneak a few levels ahead of him I can get a more accurate read, but mobs that would normally con EP to me and T to him before the sync seem to go fubar just as often as usual. Interested to hear more about this.

Oh badass! I don't have to keep special crap gear around for this fight anymore!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't thought about that!

Our LS (Beastshell, Siren) has been syncing for 2 weeks now, I am lvl 61 we have synced at 55, 47 and 33. The results would suggest that in sync would behave in exactly the same way as subbing BST.

Hope this helps
