I'm fed up with you scrub wannabe Rangers.


This job is not for just anyone to play, if you do not have a strong
grasp on how to make gil (and plenty of it) you have no right to play this job which used to be respected and coveted so much.


Why do I say used? Well if you don't understand why then you are probably one of the guilty parties. See back in the day, before all you level - whore, race to 75 morons started playing Ranger, the job was looked at as Ultimate DD, a more "Elite" job if you will for the gil requirments to play it. Ranger was usually an end game job people would pick up after they took their first job to 75 and had some lucci in their wallet to blow.

Now it's jack shit, and you chumps ruined it with your gimped subjobs and TERRIBLE gear. I see your gear and I want to vomit, sure it's just a game but I litterally feel pissed and cheated when one of you faggots gets by so easily. Your nothing but a fucking fake, a false advertisement if you will. I swear to god I wish we could check other's gear from zone to zone so NONE of you would get invites any more by poor unsuspecting party leaders who THINK they are going to get a great DD.

This is most of the reason I do not level RNG anymore, it's a fad job, now all the broke ass scrubs are playing it and making it look like shit. 90% of them play RNG/WAR because they are too god damn lazy to go unlock an level Ninja. "Oh...I want the extra Damage" BULLSHIT, you're just too fucking lazy to level the appropriate subjob. There is only very few instances I can think of where war sub is viable.

You god damn poseurs need to seriously consider taking up a new job, I don't give a shit how much fun you are having. Because you're having it at everyone else's expense. Now I don't need a bunch of wimpy replys of "Well Vang, i cant afford Leaping boots, but i try hard and blah blah" Once again, it's all bullshit excuses and cop outs. or the infamous "Skill > Gear" etc. You and I both will know if you are a worthless piece of shit RNG, (which you probably are) and if you are, then quit the job immediately. Stop ruining such a prestigious job.

my younger brother is currently leveling is RNG/WAR atm, and yes he does have NIN unlocked, but i told him not to worry about it because him and i will be exping together once he hits where i'm at... so if you don't like the RNG/WAR, then deal with it.

What do you know about what it was like "back in the day"? I don't even know what Rangers were considered "back in the day" and I started playing when the game was released in NA. Ranger was my first job, its not something I did after I was 75 already with another job and had the money to blow, and almost every Ranger you mentioned on your "list" above, also levelled Ranger as their first main job (first job levelled over 60).

The more and more you post about knowing so much about Ranger the less and less is looks like you really know sorry to say. You seem to have some good ideas, but the way you go about them and preaching them to people is way off course.

PS: I can tell you this though... more and more in the past months I get complaints about Rangers being arrogant bitches that think their better then everyone then anything else. And it doesn't look like your helping that viewpoint very much.

I've put ranger on hold at 37 because my subjob of ninja being at 14 was just too embarassing but people kept inviting me to party even if I wasn't seeking. Now I've put all the equipment I have for ranger on my mule so I don't even touch it because I believe the same thing. People invite rangers to be PULLERS and DAMAGE DEALERS. I think by the time you reach level 15 in a party, you should realize that..lol. I've yet to NOT have to pull when I'm the only ranger in the group. When there's another ranger in the group, I generally have an equal chance of being a puller.
But who can blame them. Wide Scan + Guaranteed Ranged attack?

When I am a ranger, I go for any equipment that would boost the stats needed for my job. I don't have the emperor's hair pin just yet but of course, I'm goign to get it, because it has other good uses too.

The thing I can't get over is people who do choose a sub other than ninja and go buck wild on the damage. Rangers aren't exactly a heavily defense oriented class. Ran/war should learn how to control their hate because their whole Sharpshot/barrage/ws = instant death.

This kind of philosophy is pretty much shared by most people too. You should be equipped to do the job that people expect you to.

I can see where this kind of thinking comes from too..... I see comments plastered all over the internet of careless crazy taru blms crazily expending their MP within a minute. I'm nothing like those taru blms, but yet, I'll probably have to work extra hard to even prove non-believers wrong.
 
In regards to the whole Rng/war situation, I haven't seen a good rng/war player yet because all of them die on me. Just like I'd have to prove myself to be a good blm, I'd have to see a good rng/war.
 
RNG/WAR, RNG/NIN? Most of the Rangers I have partied with have been RNG/THF. :?
 
Every class has an uncountable amount of people who make them look bad..
On the lopside, being poor only means you can't have the best equipment possible for the class, and luckily, not everyone strives for a perfect party simply based on equipment. You know how often people would get a party if every RNG/DRK/THF/NIN needed a Peacock Charm and Sniper Rings and every RDM/BLM/WHM/SMN needed a Vermillion Cloak/Serket Ring/Vivian Ring?
Sorry, but it's just not gonna happen.

Not everyone views a class as crap, nor has everyone viewed a specific class as godly (respctively, people often view a certain class as good or bad at one thing or another, but there is never a class that is viewed in a way that makes NO ONE party with them). If you're worried that your class is hated, you're just being paranoid...

Not everyone is rich, and not everyone has good luck. It'd also be terribly unfair to disallow people to be a certain class just because of equipment. Why? Because becoming a class by a quest is a guaruntee, getting certain equipment isn't. It's wouldn't be fair to say that person (a) got leaping boots on first kill so he can be RNG but person (b) is 0/4 on boots and can't be a RNG, anyhow..

Tell me what I "do not know" about Ranger Decidence. I know a gimped Ranger when I see one, which is what this thread is about.

It's as easy as ABC people, if you can't spend the bucks or make the effort in a job where at least "attempting" to have the best is the STANDARD then don't play it. Or go be a paladin with Ultra and the rest of the community :P
 
Ok Vang, good point, much better then your original flame... however you have made this point before right? At least I think you have.

It is obvious that Rangers will be pretty sub par if they don't have the gil to support it and it is pretty sad to see. But what can we do?

I think the best thing to do it to talk to these people nicely (as much as you can) and explain to them the hardships of the job and educate on how much money it will cost etc.

This is a much better way of approaching the situation I think.

However if the guy gives you lip for trying to help then by all means do what you feel necessary, whether you take the high road and keep the respect you think you deserve or degrade yourself to being arrogant that is up to you.

I think your a good player vang, and think you would be great if you had the attitude of a Moraine or a Justie (for example).

PS: My attitude isn't that much better so I shouldn't be preaching this but I do my best to keep a level head and strive to better my attitude all the time... so sorry if I sound like a hippocrit.

Yeah and rng/war ends up losing an archer's/hawker's. This rng war i had recently missed about 70% of his sidewinders, 20% of them were good dmg and 10% put him in the red after a few hits, didn't evven throw up defender. I think rng/nin have more DoT anyways since they'll hit more.

I hate people who are money grubbers in this game. If you choose to play RNG play it to the fucking fullest please. Dont jew money because you dont know how to make it.

Aside from the fact that my attitude was not Top 4 material when I played Ranger actively, Im flattered by your opinion Synical, and did not expect to be in any list from a fellow ranger I think very highly of.
 
I've used RNG/WAR to set up SATA in a situation where the setup was:

PLD RNG THF BLM SMN BRD.

Yeah, he had a hawker's, war bow +1, blah blah.

I'm delighted to discover that most of the people level 50+ (in my experience) do, in fact use good gear.

Speaking of old school, I know when I started the game (PS2 Release), one of the biggest complaints was people playing Elvaan RNG.
 
Common Vang, your better than this thread. Why waste your time when you could be scouting out poor defenseless nublets and telling them how to play to your standards. :lol:
