This NPC could be just like the one in Sandy, trading Abjurs + Cursed Items for new gear....guess we'll have to see.

Sounds a little more like the ENM rewards from the 30's to me... Though I suppose they could be adding new gods. It makes sense after all, not every job has access to the actual "God Gear".

Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but every job has access to at least one set of God gear...

The actuall god gear can only be worn by war/rng/brd/sam/nin/mnk. the rest of the jobs are ABJs that are traded to an NPC with a piece of cursed gear that nets you a rare/ex piece of equipment.

although some of the ABJs net some nice gear, it doesnt carry the same power as wearing byakkos haidate, suzakus sune ate, seiryu's kote, genbus condom, and kirins osode.

also some of the ABJs for some sets of gear drop off the land gods which most NAs don't have access to cause we get punked by jps

Currently there are quests that ask you to trade in Organs from the Lumoria mobs to get different items (Elemental Gorgets, Obi's and Earrings). I doubt that what that statment is talking to is about new gods, but rather new items you can get by turning in the organs.
