possible logo contest?

So you probably have noticed that the logos on top of these pages do not say QCDN on them.

Back in the early days of QCDN there was a logo contest, and the winner got like 80k or whatever it was, second and thrid runners up got some cash too, all those who submitted entires got a custom title.

It was easier back then, only one logo for the phpbb style that we used. This time we would basically need seven (maybe only 6) differently sized, and styled logos (for the default style, I-Bulletin, Black and Gold, Insignia, BP-Brown and BP-Grey, as well as C64).

If you have an idea on how to best accomplish this, please post. For obvious reasons I can't put out a Gil reward this time around.
 
I'd be into helping out for this, I think the only thing you'd want to do is establish an actual qcdn logo and just change the hues to suit the layout.

I'll refiine if the contest actually goes through. It's 550x200, just like old sig standards. If you want just a simple clear background logo, I think the font I used works wonderful.
 
I can see a dead heat competition between Sabia and Taurothar lol Especially Sabia that girl knows how to draw.

ahh That Quetzalcoatl image is perfect Tao.

For the default style the logo is basically this one more or less fitted into each of the default style color options.

Perhaps it would be best to replace that logo with just an image that has the little curve in it, and then place a completely new logo on the upper right side of the board.

I really don't know the first thing about design. The basic requirements are always the same; good looks and small file size. ;)

My logo is probably best suited for resizing and put in the top right as suggested by Sculli. I'll be happy to do the mods of the all theme-logos to be without the VBulletin logo. If I can, I'll send you them tomorrow night Sculli. That will take a few minutes each. That's no big deal at all. Let me know if you want them Sculli.
 
Ill make one too later once im done with a few things. Heres a little suggestion have a contest and if we dont get many entrys and they all look great just have the server randomly switch the images (if possible) so that its a different logo every time. just a suggestion.

I know a lot of the others are the same theme, just different colours. Although I (or anyone else for that matter), could use the same logo with the different colours.
 
With the help of my bf, this is what we came up with. Simple and easily readable. Very news paper like we thought. Took him like 5 minutes to do hah!^^

The text and background color and background can be changed well hell all of it can be changed but this is what i got to share.

This one works with any background you have on your site so yeah i didn't add a backround and yet again anything can be changed.

I added background so there for the website background whont show up. If needed i can add borders.
 
all designs are great.

however amoung them all I love swishiee's design most^^
so neat and stylish. also love the night shift idea.

Though please do keep my post from the fisrt page in mind for any current logos:

Any logos that do not fit the current dimensions will be considered at a later date, once I figure out how to insert a logo at the top right part of the screen without to break the entire board layout in the process.

Impossible to do, you would have to have vast knowledge of PHP and the patience to rewrite the entire php database. Well, so it's not impossible, it's not somthing the average person would want to do though.

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. When I said top right part of the screen, I really meant top right part of every page, basically above the Welcome, <user>. part int he default style. That shouldn't be too tricky to do I would imagine.
 
Shouldn't be hard at all. Theoretically at least. As long as the logo is no more than 85px tall. If it is taller, just set the vertical alignment of the table cells to bottom in the css (assuming vbulletin is using css).
 
Which they must be since there are different styles... /dur
