Possible Solution to Gil Sellers

Ok I hate Gil Sellers, I hate them a lot. I cannot stand that any viable and worth while farming solution is infested with sellers. They are at every HNM camp, every NM that has a decent drop, every mining area, and more. They do gods and BCNM now ruining even those as an clean source of farming. I don't know of anywhere to farm where they are not at. I wouldn't mind it so much if it was a normal player, but they make a living like this and it's against ToS. This is like trying to find enjoyment playing against professional soccer players while you cannot even touch the ball. I am not suggesting they are impossible to compete against, but it's not easy either and most people give up at the thought of playing against them considering there are hundreds of them.

I know SE will do nothing to get rid of them as I am sure they no longer care. You can argue all you want that it is against ToS to sell gil, but SE does not care. They realized a long time ago that by leaving that claus into the ToS it would appeas those that dislike gil sellers and buyers, but also by not enforcing those rules, they allow both sellers and buyers, a large constituency, to continue as paying customers. Really, why would they get rid of a vast amount of players who continually pay $13 each month?

Well I came up with an idea, really I have no idea of whether it will work or even if it seems like a decent idea. Heck, I bet some of you after reading this will either think I am crazy or racist, but at this point I do not care, I just want to be able to farm without having to compete against a plethura of sellers who do this for a living. Well as most people have realized, a majority if not all gil sellers are Chinese. China in it's current political system is very tough on interent policies, monitoring all traffic or near to it. Since 9/11, the FBI has been keeping track of or using key word searches to get information, like if you were to mention bombs in your blog, it sets off a red alarm and they immediately research further(I don't know if it is true, but it doesn't sound entirely unreasonable either). Well I was thinking, if I started a conversation with a gil seller and spoke of taboo subjects, maybe suggesting the gil sellers over-throw the government, mention Tiananmen Square, infer they want to assassinate a Chinese Leader, or something along those lines maybe then sellers would get flagged as problems and get banned. All we need to do is set off an alarm, then let the Chinese government do something about them. Does this sound even plausible or is it just a crazy thought?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
That's the best shit I've heard in a long time.

You first. Ok go. ^^

I don't mean for that to sound totally sarcastic. I mean it could possibly work. I'd rather just try to fuck with them in mass though. We should arrange a QCDN event to mess up their program...Follow them all around and take every MOB they want. I'd so be on that. They'd be so frustrated. Eventually, they wouldn't have enough gil to sell to the buyers. Put them out of business! GO!

The only one's who can do something about gil sellers (SE) are the one's who won't.

There is just not enough demand for anti-gil-seller-action. Sure on QCDN and other forums there is a vocal minority, but that's just it, a minority, of people who make a fuss about gil sellers.

Just take QCDN, several thousand visitors per month, several hundred active per month, how many of those are posting about gil sellers? Gil sellers may be a problem, it's just that the majority of the players doesn't seem to think so, and most definitely doesn't take action to demonstrate that they feel it is a problem.

lol if i had a family to feed without a job you bet your ass i would sell gil. haha not saying i would though just so you know but we can see there point. I would say just hate them and leave them alone hehe

without this there would be gil sellers dying irl!

You are just jealous that they beat you every time to money things :P anyways... the idea of everyone on the server screwing with them wouldn't work (well.. everyone on the server on this forum). They play 24/7 the rest of us do not. They are spread to all the servers.. we only have one.. Annoying them in our server wouldn't do jack really. It might actually increase the amount of gilsellers they employ to our server to try and counter our efforts to make up for the shortage of gil they are getting.

Just jealous. I love that crap.
Actually I almost always beat them to the goobs and take their precious tree cuttings. Then the /slap me.
I /laugh at them and /cheer the goobs on when they get one.

Bring on the full scale GS assault. I'd love to see it.

I was saying just jealous to Lavi actually XD completely jokingly.. anyways.. I would, too, love to do nothing more than get gilsellers off the game but I just don't see it happening

I was watching BBC this morning on T.V. China has passed a law, where people who play MMO (and they know who they are because they are REQUIRED to register the game and the people who play it) have been restricted to a certain amount of hours of play based on age. Apparently too many Chinese have DIED from playing too long on MMO. I don't think they read that warning from SE before they actually play the game. I don't know how true this is, but it seems pretty viable because I also play the Japanese beta version of Granado Espada, and there are some people who never log off. I can't say they're Chinese, but I can merely assume and speculate. Also, when they type its pure Kanji, no hiragana, katakana, or those Korean characters. So my guess is its Chinese.

I used to never log off in EQ at times, and I sure am not Chinese! Heh ..., good times, multi-day Plane of Sky raids.

I think the game is too far along to really do anything useful against gil sellers anymore.

More recent MMOs have tried to counteract the virtual currency trade some, with varying success. In the end it will always be up to the developers and publishers to implement schemes to keep a balanced economy as much as it is practical to do so.

Enix needs gil sellers to make everything difficult so people play longer.Same way sculli needs ige to make moneys off this website. You can't do nothing about it ... just quit if you feel like it

who cares? everyone can come up with thier own stupid solution but there's no point in even posting cuz seriously, SE dont give a fuck about it. they still getting thier $$$ and they aint gonna ban customers that are making them $$$.

Why don't SE just reset all the prices in AH, taking away everything, everyone will get back their tax fee and item and it will start all over. Then SE can make the maximum bidding of an item to 1 mil or something, or somehow work that out so things aren't tremendously overpriced, then with everything cheaper and selling less, it will put Gil sellers out of business.

well if they did that max bid thing the gil sellers would stop using the AH and just bazaar stuff.
and if they cap the bazaar they would try to do trade only method.

you can't cap the AH, everyone would be running around with +1 gear that they were simply not meant to have. It seems to me that putting a limit cap on the amount of gil able to be sent through mail boxes could be a viable option. 8 mail slots, 100k max transaction, makes it impossible to send a million gil at one shot, granted that won't solve the problem but it would certainly make things a bit more annoying for both sellers and buyers. So as not to screw transactions between mules, if you're on the same registration code, no cap. It's late and I'm a bit tired but I think i may be on to something there, also implementing a Scarlet "G" system would be pretty damn hilarious too...love, peace, and chicken grease.

I heard about this also, although I heard about one person dying. Wouldnt be suprised if it was more though. My idea was to put a limit on how many times you can claim a certain NM a day or something like that. Of course gil sellers would just lvl more characters and keep doing it but it might give non rmt a more of a chance. I soooo want Ochiudos kote and Fuma Kayahan for my SAM but competing against the gil sellers in Castle Oztroja gets frustrating as hell :(
