Wow! I didn't really feel like catching up through ALL SIX PAGES, but I noticed some people question whether or not this was a flame forum. Of course it is!!! Where else can you find an originally funny post turned into a HUGE flame war, LMAO.

Lie all you want, Sculli, about why you banned me. My reasoning clearly shows what most of the users here already know. If this were REALLY about the post-count thing, I wouldnt be the only ban, and certainly not the first (as ive only participated, again, in this joke twice). I didnt 'knowingly choose to demonstrate that I dont give a shit'. I chose to attempt to elicit a few laughs, while subtly (or not so) pointing out how rediculous locking the thread and delivering an ultimatum were. This 'joke' was not 'out of hand'. It was three posts that, im guessing, would make more than a few people giggle. I couldnt give two shits about my post count, or my ingame level, etc.

No hard feelings my ass. Why should I want to post on a forum where I am forced to walk on glass to appease some self-richeous admin? Why should I have to fear that If i make the wrong joke, that you might stick a sock in my mouth and cover it with duct tape?

You preach about what an 'acomplishment' this forum is... you have a large ammount of users who dont even post. Many of these people have spoken to me in game, saying that they only reason them come is to read my posts. I create something worth reading, or laughing at, weather you like it or not. My wit is sharp, I type quickly, and I have a fuckload of freetime to spend as I please. No longer will it be spent fueling the 'accomplishment' of a complete prick.

I think why Sculli banned Keits in the first place was cause he reopened a thread that was closed, see post count +1. Keits made a new thread called Post Count +2. Now what if we got a trouble making troll that came on these boards and started doing the same thing. Keits did it out of a sense of humor. But the troll would do it too cause all kind of trouble. If Sculli starts too ban this guy then he would point too what Keits did and say "Hey, I was doing it too be funny." Then Sculli might have his hands tied. Thats the way I look at it. Keits was just temp. banned not permantly banned. Sculli did cut him some slack. This is after all payed for out of Sculli's own pocket. He would have too moderate the flameboards somewhat.

Well in the other forums I've been to, in unmoderated forums, the mods never even looked inside - it was free-for-all. Guess I just had the same expectation here.

Well it depends on how you look at it. The admin has implied mod abilities on all forums within a board. I mean there are quite a few forums on here that do not list a mod, but that doesn't mean that people can go wild there.

One of the premises of the Flameboard is that it is unmoderated, but it still has to submit to the general QCDN rules as posted in the guidelines section. If it doesn't, then moderation kicks in. Overall I think the numbers are pretty good, close to 7k posts, and less than 1/1000th of those posts got moderated.

However, I since had some time to reflect on banning Keits. I think that Keits was right in some things he mentioned, namely that he really was not one who did a "postcount +1" post all that often. Most all of his posts were, while the content can be argued, not posted to bump postcount.

I also think that if I would still be playing FFXI, I may have found the HQ syth of postcount+1 into postcount+2 really funny.

Hindsight it always 20/20, and I believe that I made a mistake banning Keits.

At the time it appeared to me that he only posted the "and oh, postcount+3" to tick me off, showing that he just doesn't give a fuck about post count bumping rules. While I still believe that this was in part indeed the case, I also think that under different circumstances one could find it hilarious.

In short, I should have just responded to the post, stating the whole post count bumping thing again, and at the very most locked the thread.

Banning Keits for a day over this was a mistake.
 
I too thought about this after the fact.
Where I was initially trying to smooth things over with Keits, I realize now the guy is just as ass, regardless of anything that was done to him, be it "right" or "wrong".

I'm not trying to come out and say anything other than Keits smokes pole.

That is all.
 
My basis for this is that some people tried and made attempts to be diplomatic, and it was obvious that some people didn't even care to.

The people that didn't care to play nice were dicks, and remorseless dicks at that.

I don't hate many things in this world more than a remorseless dick.
