Post rock anyone?

Post-rock is still pretty young. It's not exactly my cup of tea with the lack of vocals in most songs but the ambience induced is relaxing.

I'm a fan of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, I only have a few of their songs. Places around here don't really sell the albums unfortunately and I hate downloading from bands I like more than 2-3 songs from. I like the ambient and somewhat decaying sound they have.

Definately a fan of Godspeed, but I have yet to listen to the other bands you mentioned. I will definately have to check them out.

There are bands that use vocals like Ghastly City Sleep. I'd check out the song Ice Creeks, it has very calm instrumentals.

Godspeed hates mass media, so I don't think they'd care too much if you downloaded their albums lol.

If you like the violin, which I personally adore, check out Yndi Halda's song We Flood Empty Lakes, the second movement is my favourite part. If you want more rock orientated group, Explosions In The Sky is the way to go.

I'm a huge post-rock fan. I've been into bands like Cult of Luna, ISIS, Red Sparowes, Explosions in the Sky, GSY!BE, A Silver Mt. Zion, Neurosis, and Rosetta for a while now.

I'm a huge fan, seen most of those bands live, Slint are also good. Also try Fly Pan Am.

Explosions would be better if they replaced the drummer who seems to feel that drumrolls are AMAZIN'! when it's kinda boring when you do it EVERY FUCKIN' SONG
