All tatoo parlos have galleries to check out, some of it could give you an idea and you could mess with it to make it more your own and sort of "recreate" it. However, when your really serious about getting one, eventually something comes to your mind, something thats important to you or that really defines you.

The Tribal on my back would be an example of the 1st type of tattoo, something that just stood out to me and for lack of better words, looks pretty cool.

The Japanese Characters on my arms, stand for something thats important to me.

Either way bro, make sure its something your willing to have on you forever, and choosing the right spot is just as important
 
Personally, a Tattoo on my ass cheeks that reads "Exit Only" sounds pretty good to me.

If you need to clarify that point when you've reached that particular location, you're doing it wrong. XD

I have a yin-yang on my right ankle and at some point in the near future, I'll be getting a phoenix. I'm not sure where yet. Both are significant to me in personal ways.

My best friend's wife is a tattoo artist. I could tell a pretty gross story along these lines but I'll refrain, lol. Anyway, they have a lot of matching tattoos, and some of his more detailed ones were done by her. She always asks me every time I hang out with them if I want a free tattoo but so far I've always declined. Tattoos just aren't my thing I suppose. I might post some pics of their tattoos later if I get the go-ahead from them to do so.

I've never seen more reason to stress RESEARCH YOUR ARTISTS PEOPLE lol.

Seriously, I have demanded to seen work done with the same technique from each artist I've gone to less the wrist tat. I was rushing for that one.

Fine needle I pushed to see over 20 tats Gord (my buddy) did with fine needle. The best example was on my girlfriend (who has over 100 tats), he used fine needle for a John Lennon music notation tribute.

Yes She's a walking billboard.

I too am anal about "matching" tats. More so symmetrical lol, hence why I need to get a bass clef on my right wrist, I'm off balance as it stands lol.

Far left, she was only up to 78ish at that time, we call her our walking billboard <3

my tats are kinda random but each has a story of its own and how it happend to get on me.. lol the frog and the kanji are my favies though and the cherry skulls.. thats my newest one.. im so addicted to these things.. only prob now.. I dont know what else i want.. something will come to me eventually.. lol

edit: the cherrys where taken with a cell phone.. all we had at the time.. lol so its not as clear as the others.. but looks just as hawt to meh
 
Those cherry skulls are badass, awesome idea.
