POWER LEVEL???

I have posted this in the General Discussion, but then decided to let you all know since Flameboard is obviously the most popular Forum.

This is not directed towards anyone. No names mentioned. I dont like starting personal feuds. So I'm just gonna rant....Here goes....

...I'm lvling my White Mage in Valkurm Dunes and I get not 1...not 2...but THREE /tells asking if I need a power level! So out of instinct I ask:
"What's the catch?"
They respond, "<No Money> I'm willing to help."
I say: "No Thanks."
Because we already had one...and we were doing rather good for a 10-12 party in dunes. So the point of my thread is this...Now that SE has made updates, will I be getting these random /tells from people who would normally not be so generous?? I was propositioned 5-10k until the party broke. Now its not a bad price, but I think it is pathetic that people who once monopolized NMs are now desperate enough to ask if they CAN pl your party. Where we these people when I really needed them? Oh ya - camping NMs and raking in the dough....Not so rich now, are ya??

So what are your thoughts on their new tactic to gil finding?
 
So ur upset that ppl are ask'n to give free pls, and accusing them of wanting gil from helping? Or what, because thats what i got from what was said.

I basically see "people are offering to PL my party for 10k, from now until they disband. They're such selfish bastards" coming from this....really, if you asked most people, they'd just say no or charge something along that much (if not much more) on the hour or per levelup. I'd say you're lucky to have gotten offers like that, so you shouldn't really be whining..

I think you're missing what I'm saying. Never did I say I was opposed to PL or new ways of making gil. I simply said it was pathetic that they send random /tells offering some "service" that they never would have even thought to do BEFORE update. Now that their usual method is no longer available due to the update...and never did I say they were offering to do it for free. I have no problem with a party member having a friend PL, but I dont want my party to be interrupted with these random /tells tha, under normal circumstances, would never exist. Funny how people have a totally different way of interperating threads.

But yeh, QCDN seems to have a unresponsive problem going on right now.

Just sorta difficult to grasp how you see it as pathetic..the guy you quoted whom offered to PL you supposedly offered for free even...are you sure you weren't just shooting down a couple people who were trying to be helpful, wether it be free or just some really low cost? Because I also doubt that any of the people who were at VE would go from that to 10k PL parties, seems they'd far sooner goto Mee Deggi, Bloodhand(?) or even Dame Blanche....unless they're trying to scam noobs by taking some gil to PL then magic DCing or something.. :roll:

Did I PM you repeatedly? No.
And not one of the offers was for free. They ranged from 5-10k as mentioned before.
Also this was not a personal flame so I dont know why some of you are taking it as if I pointed a finger at you. This is a flame on the IDEA and how I perceive this tactic to be pathetic. Some of those NM campers competely 100% relied on those NM drops, so when thats taken away, I understand they have to make gil by other means. Just wish they would stop /telling me.

I'm pretty sure there are some other NMs worthwhile camping, now that 4 of the bigger camps have been changed to Rare/EX. So their "usual" method is still in check.
