anybody figured out a good way to power level?
the only method i have so far, is to keep healing someone as they fight, but it takes kinda long.

There really is no good way to climb through levels at a super-fast rate. The best you can hope for is to have a high-level mage curing a heavy melee hitter (like DRK) who's using Mithkabobs, and even then fighting anything higher than an Even Match can be a liability. A good, well-balanced party is going to be your fastest source of exp, especially if you have a static party that cuts down on time looking for members.

Powerleveling is still convenient if you're helping a linkshell member raise an advanced job up to level 10, but I highly discourage powerleveling new players. They need these starting moments to learn the interface, their job abilities, and what their character is truly capable of,

I highly agree with that.

Yep, only powerlevel if the person has experience beforehand from another job. Powerleveling new players leads to Warriors in Valkurm not knowing what Provoke is, or Black Mages with just Stone still.

Also, if your helping someone PL, and they die due to some circumstance, don't bother looking for a raise. The XP you lose can be quickly made up, best bet is to go back to homepoint and walk back to your previous spot. Hell, even if you get a raise quickly, you still need to deal with 8 minutes of weakness (I think its 8).

I was thinking also, if you happen to have Bard with a few levels, maybe you can quickly keep PTing and singing 2 songs, then disbanding with the person and having those songs effects remain for a little bit. I've never tried it, but maybe it works, give it a shot if you got Bard, I know I'll be trying it with my friend once he unlocks his advance job.

well I like to cast stoneskin and as soon as i get phalanx on that. And then while I'm healing the hate comes to me and i take no damage because of stoneskin. Which can be easily replaced because of high evasion and no inturuption caused by aquaviel.

My friend is level 20 something. As you all know a level 20 something could not take on a giant that links. When I'm with ihm he can take 2 down. Very impressive. (even though I'm taking the hits for 1 of them and hes just attacking the other.)

you get the general idea though right?

One method I always wanted to try is this. Go to an empty zone, and the high level engages a mob next to a zone line until the mob is virtually dead. He zones over and back, while the lower level finishes off the mob. I'm not sure how well it would work, but if you can find a lot of mobs that don't link near a zone line, it would be great.

I heard that zoning will allow someone to get full xp, but I've never tested it. One kill every 2.5 minutes would net nearly 5000 xp per hour. Not sure how feasible it is, but I would love to try it sometime.

I was in a party hunting dhalmels yesterday when another player zoned to Mhaura with one on his back. Rather than have the thing link on my next pull, I figured we'd wait til this IT Dhalmel was back up to full health again and take it out. We did so, and after a fierce battle we won...... for 32 exp. >_<

I don't exactly know what happened, but from the looks of it that trick won't work for giving a lowbie 200 exp a fight.
