Price of Scorpion Harness

though i agree with the beast seal, and add ancient coins for relic
problem with beast seals is then a person can do bcnm alot and flood the market which would make a negitive inflation

While it would make more items available, it would still be removing gil from the game, which is the bigger issue as to why prices are so high on some things.

humm

If more expensive items were more available, prices would drop. The reason a item goes up is because the shortage of supply to meet the demand. I don't see how this would be bad for the economy, more S.H's out there means the price would drop, not go higher.

The prices will drop eventually, just a lot of people are buying now and not selling. Soon everyone will be switching jobs or in need of cash so they will sell. This thing goes up and down constantly.

gonna love the old day when Stack of Fire Crystal was like 2k and was like 120+ in stock :O

Now is 4k-5k in Windy x.X noob people are so greedy XD

That and crafters never consider farming their materials. I went 0-50 bonecraft and never spent a cent, cept maybe about 50k cuz I got lazy every now and then.

I don't even think economic rules apply to what's going. The only way I can see the prices in the AH go down is if no one buys anything from the AH itself. You could have 10 SHs or the AH or 3. The prices will still increase because people saved up their money for who knows how long to get their own Harness and they're gonna make sure they get the harness at the moment in time. Even the hauby has gone up in price... again.. (to 3 mil) Luckily I got mine for 2.5mil from a friend personally.

To me, the economy hasn't recovered since they did that whole update about changing the way you fish and the catching of rusty caps in rabao and other areas, and then also selling your synthed rusty caps (padded/strong) to the bastok blacksmithing guild NPC. The prices imho started to inflated back then BUT you knew you could always fish to get your gil. Also when SE added that AH tax fee, prices got a lil more expensive because people wanted to compensate getting the 'correct amount of gil' coming to them by increasing the price. The final blow to the AH never recovering unless SE does something 'drastic' is when they made the VE, argus, and leaping lizzy drops Rare/Ex and then BCNMs you need to get the 'real' items from have a low drop rate for using 40 seals.

How did SE think that doing all that is going to 'deflate' the economy. Remember, we still got kids playing this game... I think supply and demand are meaningless to them. They just want the most for what put in the AH at all times.

Making a 'chocobo racing track' would be pointless if people hack into the 'game' and can always pick out the winner.

What would be funny is if everyone in the entire server just didn't buy anything from the AH for 2 weeks. I guarantee you the prices would go down after something crazy like that.

Actually, I agree with Skaw about having the NPC's sell some items as a gil dump. It would stabilize the prices of some fluctuating items, and it would still offer a reasonable profit for those who camp those items.

Looking to crystals, if all crystals were set to a standard price, let's say 3,000 a stack, then new players would still make money farming those crystals and selling them for even 2,999 gil. The AH would be where people would buy the crystals if they want to save a little cash or if the NPC happens to be out of crystals for that day. The NPC option would also be useful for people who don't need a full stack, but don't want to pay 500 or so for a single crystal.

Introducing new ways to get the items will lead to more of the items available which will eventually lead to lower prices. Raise 3 is a perfect example. It was 1.5-2 mil in january, and when ENM's were added in february that had Raise 3 as a drop, the price plummeted and it's now less than 50k. I think the biggest mistake of the changes for the NM drops were removing the items from the market. If they just added the bcnm's that dropped the items, but left the NM's alone, then the prices would have dropped, instead of skyrocketted like they have now.

I'm all for standardizing the prices, nothing is more annoying when you finally save enough money for something and you go to the AH and see it's jumped in price. I know I was mad when I had saved enough for blessed pants, only to go to the AH and find they had jumped up 50% in price.

If you make supplies limited at a NPC selling crystals, you know people are gonna camp it to turn around and put it on AH for more. Just like bronze ingots for exemple.

If you don't make it limited, you inject a huge amount of stock in an already very versatile market (crystals). Personally, I think it will just put a roof price (dunno if that's the correct expression in english, french speaker here), meaning the prices will stil be verstile, but in a more limited range, never above what the NPC sells them for.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more stable prices and the idea of having NPCs sell more stuff is a good idea, depends what items.

Most of the stuff you can farm to buy this is inflated as well so your gonna spend the same amount of time farming to get this as someone would have 6 months ago. Hell, stacks of Silk is what, 30K + now? They were around 14k when I bought my Harness (bought it for 4.5mil).

I farmed the hell outta Emppy and Stroper to buy my Harness so that kinda sucks that people can't do that now. I also farmed a little (Bloodpool ftw). Camping VE was like a rite of passage for committed THF's trying to get a SH. Ah wel, there is other NMs to capitalize on now. Well, until someone bitches and they make the drops Rare/Ex.

Thats the point of why I said there should be merchantable crystals. Look at Heroe for example. 75's across the board with upper60 Dragoon.

He can't farm crystals reliably as say someone who permantly keeps a job reduced in level specifically to farm fire crystals.

He either has to A) Fight exp mobs and have his PT let him lot on them. B) Hunt elementals, and we all know how rare that is for Fire, C) Camp clusters in Ru'Aun, which is risky business and takes a bit of time. or D) Succumb to the Auction House.

If Square allows us to reliably farm ingredients, why not let us reliably farm the most important thing in crafting?

Well, you can farm the crystal, you said it yourself, elementals. Yes some are harder to get, just like any other ingredients, some are easy and some are harder.

You can also farm anything that gives you more gils then buy the crystals, which is the same has farming them, maybe even more profitable.

As for someone 75 accross the board not being able to farm them, boo freakin hoo, I'm sure he can afford them at AH....

:?

You're showing exactly my point, Veresko.

You shouldn't have to be required to spend gil to leveling a craft if you want to stretch out the time to level it. Making crystals totally unreliable to farm counters that in every possible notion. Atleast with with merchanted crystals, you won't have to pay retarded amounts for common-as-fuck crystals(Lightning) or stuck fronting 5k+ because Fire and Light crystals are extremely rare, yet fires such a common requirement for most synthesis.

E) Gear up in 30 gear and go to a Promy area. Mobs are EP at the bottom, meaning they'll drop crystals, bstman seals, and useless crap. Granted it isn't as easy in drops as levelling a job starting from lv1, but it'll work.

I'm 99% sure Empty are crystal-less. I was farming for recollections last night. Only got memories and beastmen seals, outside of recollections.

I have somewhat of I idea. Stick with the npc idea of seller certain items/crystals/seals but limit the amout that ppl can buy. So one person can only buy x amount os seals in one game week. And for conrtol proposes only make the items availible to those ppl who are of the same nation that controls that region. That way lazy ass sandorian might get off there ass and try to take over some other areas and make other nations garrisons aliitle easier to do.

I personly think whoever said that they should have just added those nm drops to bcnms and left the nms alone was right but its to late for that.

I also got another bazaar idea I though of this while I was high so keep that in mind. Make a magic well throw x amount of gill in there and it spits out a item, and there a chance to get just about me non ex item. The more gill you through in the better chance on gettin a better item.

I also had another Idea i though of a long time ago, make special random wanted posters with some random new nm that pops in a random region. The nm pop regions, area, NM lvl, and there possible drops will all be completely random. And there will be 100% drop on a special item drop that you trade to x NPC the gets you a reward that also depends on the mobs lvl and area it pops. This would be a very interesting addition giving players something to do if there just bores or tryin to make money. O and the area it wuold random roam around the entire area making it difficult to find/get too and to be fare to other jobs it will not show on wide scan. The item drop rate depend on the area it pops and the NMs lvl. the only clue the npc will give you is the region its in thats it.

Now do this idea along with some other solutions and that can really help the economy

DAMN IT!!! I had a nice post written and when I hit submit, I get the login screen again!!!! grrr

Anyway, here it goes again:

Skaw, I get your point and let me rephrase mine. I think having a NPC that sells crystals would be nice (like ANY other ingredients) but it is not necessary in my opinion.

You're saying it's almost impossible to farm crystal and have to get them at AH where they are overpriced. But you would still buy them at a NPC, just a little less money.

Plus, crystals are not that hard to get: EXP, Elementals, Choc digging, Gardening, etc. You want fire crystals, go dig in the desert on fire day if you can't kill the elementals. Gardening with regular seeds takes what, 4-5 days? That can easily give you 5-6 stacks of crystals. And if you refer strickly to the act of farming (ie going out and killing stuff wiht no gils spent at all), where again, elementals.

It's like eveything else in this game, some stuff are harder to do, some ingredients are harder to farm. If you want cheap crystals, it takes time, like farming slime oil or whatever ore you need.

So again, a NPC that sells ingredients/crystals would be nice, but far from needed and most likely not a way to save money. If that ever happens, they need to make it a limited supply not to kill any market and we all know what happens with limited supply, guild campers.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents on it and no, empties do not drop crystals.

If that's true, there are still other level-capped areas... Phomiuna, Riverne, Pso'Xja, and probably more to come in the new expansion. At least one of em will give you crystals.

Forgot to add that empties do not drop crystals and ALSO don't give Conquest points, these zones do not count in either regional control or tally.
