just fyi i asked a rep at eb games here in florida about launch info. this is what he stated.

nintendo wii =

out nov. 17 will be 250 dollars.

ps3 =

out nov. 17 will be 500 dollars for (xx) gigabytes hd included or 600 dollars for (xx) gb hd included.. sorry i forgot hd sizes off hand but also the smaller hd will be upgradeable.

i think its wierd the systems will be launched the same day if they do it that way. i will wait for whatever system i choose so the first batch gets sold and defects are found. im still basking in my xbox 360 with media center glory.
 
For the PS3, I hear that the HD is un-upgradeable. That is why many people are going to be forced into buying the $600 one. BTW, the cheaper one is 20gig and the more expensive one is 60gig

And I am a Nintendo Rep for the district up here in NY.
 
So lanien, when are we going to start being able to reserve a Wii? I haven't heard anything about pre-ordering at all.
 
Pretty sure that's up to the stores themselves, from what I remember of the 360 launch my old store didn't need to ask our Microsoft rep or anything. I think most stores are just being careful since they saw the problems with that launch and would rather not deal with that mess again. Plus you gotta think, it's so close to the launch already, kinda late to start now I would assume.
 
GameStop and EB will be receiving their Pre-ordering marketing soon for both the PS3 and the Wii, so expect within the next 2 weeks, depending on when they decide to advertise it.
 
The Wii is actually being released on Nov. 19th.

The EB by my house said the manager was at a high level meeting to find out regional unit numbers and that soon they should have a strong figure as to how many units they will have for launch. He was saying they hope to get ~8 units which if that is the truth I am #2 on the pre-order, pre-order list. *crosses fingers*

Psst. PS3 will be able to be reserved tomorrow. GameStop and EB will be taking reserves for 8 PS3s total, most likely 4 of each type. Get there early or they will be gone. However, the 8 reserves are for spaces in line. If for some reason less than 8 come, then it will be chronological of who gets it. Happy hunting.

Wii will be next week. Shipments will be in 12,24, or 36 depending on the size and amount of business done by the store. Much better than the PS3.

So ummm, do you happen to know if they are going to call people on the "pre-pre-order" list and let people know this or just let it be first come first serve? I assume they are limiting it to one console per person. :D If not I am gonna be an E-bay bastage.

It just may yet be a Wii/PS3 November!
