Prince of Persia is one of those titles that seemed to divide gamers in 2008 -- either you loved it, or you simply hated it. For me, it was one of the best gaming experiences of last year. So if you hear shouting, that's me yelling in excitement about the game's upcoming downloadable content.

Ubisoft has revealed that some huge "Epilogue" downloadable content will be coming on February 26. By "huge," we're talking a new area, a new power, a new attack ... here's the list in bullet-point form, direct from Ubisoft:

* New Region: The Underground Palace – A corrupted underground palace from which the Prince and Elika need to escape in a new epic journey.
* New Power: Energize – Reconstruct destroyed areas of the environment to create a path and rush through it before it vanishes.
* New high pace: The new trap challenge – The Prince and Elika will face more cunning foes, cleverer traps and level design, adding more to the difficulty level in over 3 hours of gameplay.
* New Attack: Sprinting Clash – A duel move that lets you or the enemy trigger a sprint attack, charging towards each other, clashing your weapons fiercely.
* New Unlockable Skins: Finish the game and unlock exclusively, from the early development of the game, the Prototype characters of the Prince and Elika.

No word on pricing for the "Epilogue" content, but it looks like it should be a good value, considering the amount of content. So: do want or do not want?

I can hardly wait, I loved the New PoP from last year so I'll definitely be downloading this.

Unfortunately:

Ubisoft isn’t planning any DLC for the PC version of Prince of Persia, so extras will be limited to the console SKUs.

The firm’s cited “business reasons” behind the decision, as reported by BigDownload.

The game’s console versions are to get a sizeable chunk of extra stuff later this month in “Epilogue”. Details here.

Sorry Realia.

my hubby and I were playing the first PoP game on PS2 together, it is pretty fun! It was nice playing together because whenever one of us got pissed off at a particular section, we'd pass the controller lol

Uh, aren't the Prototype Prince and Elika already unlockable, or is that just the PC version? :| I'm pretty sure I got them through collecting all 1001 light seeds.

Prototype Elika has blonde hair, and the Princes outfit isn't as vibrantly colored.

Have you gotten it yet, Gerry? I've been looking at this, and it seems like a decent buy, but i don't know if i liked PoP enough to warrant any DLC for it.

Going to buy it a little later, the extra content seems like it's worth the price to me, plus it's adding new trophies/achievements to collect.

Just finished the epilogue, and wow, it was quite difficult, I was actually surprised when I finished it in under 2 hours, I died a hell of a lot and got my time wasted by the frustratingly hard boss segments. Well, I'm a glutton for punishment so I'm gonna play it again and get the last 3 trophies I need to get which are:

- Elika rescues you under 20 times during the epilogue (MUCH Harder than you think)
- Kill every soldier before they spawn (Should be simpler if I am quicker)

and

- Find every Fresco in the game (Not that easy but not that Hard either).

The game also sets things up for the next instalment, which imo, will hopefully be a bit more linear rather than the free roaming parts of the first game. The main game was pretty easy at times but when the Epilogue came out it got a bunch more challenging.

All in all though, the epilogue is frustratingly satisfying and well worth the £7.99 you pay for.
