Jesus, another video game movie? When will people le

Well, golly. It actually looks pretty fucking good. I'd rather have had the princes name remain anonymous though. But Jake Gyllenhaal seems to pull off the character really well.

My only serious gripe is actually Jake Gyllenhaal. He seems to have done a good job, but he's pretty much yet another example of the "Can't Have Middle Eastern Lineage Actors Star In Heroic Roles" trend that Hollywood deathly abides by. See also: The Last Airbender movie. Chock full'a White Heroes, Colored Villains in that one when theres not a single White character in the cartoon.

i heard about this a loooong time ago, before the most recent game came out. They even knew the actors playing at that point, i held this one in high hopes since i heard about it since i love jake as an actor.

I think it will be great. I've actually *never* played PoP (any game!), so my opinions about how the storyline of the game potentially being "butchered" could remain untainted.

I think whenever Bruckheimer attaches himself to a film, though, the movie itself just turns to gold. I sincerely look forward to this, and will likely start playing the games myself as a result lol.

Am i the only one that thinks Jake Gyllenhaal just doesnt fit in the role? I see him out of place, and i cant help but think of the movie Jarhead.... Ill check it out, i hope its a good flick but I dont know if i can get past Gyllenhaal playing the main character.

Remember Antonio Banderas playing a Persian in The 13th Warrior?

And yet ironically, Oded Fehr played Carlos in the Resident Evil movies.

On topic: Amazingly, this actually looks good. And it actually looks like a PoP movie, and not just some random flick with the same name as a video game (like the upcoming King of Fighters catastrophe).

Oh, and one other thing. Sure, 99% of the cast of Avatar is either asian or inuit, but if Aang were any whiter he'd be on Leave It to Beaver.

yeah, honestly i don't know what kind of crack these casting directors are smoking but they really don't know how to correctly cast video game characters.

from John Leguizamo playing luigi in super mario bros. to ali carter playing claire in resident evil

i don't know what their proccess is but they should research the character more before casting

True Persians are of Caucausian stock, and therefore, much more fair skinned than other Middle Eastern group. They're not "Arabic" in the generic use of the term.

Same boat for me. I'm pretty excited about this movie, looks great in my opinion.

Is the movie a general storyline from all the games, or is it mainly based on the Sands of Time game?

They just showed an extended preview durin' Sunday Night Football. I was thinkin' this movie was goin' to suck some gonads but it looks friggin' sweet.

It looks like it would be a fun time at the movies, and that's really all i ever want from movies anyway

The movie looks very, very good. Although I still know Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak) could've been a better Prince of Persia!
