Problem

ok sry for postin a lot, 001 is blank and the guy said to try to find the install directory for FFXI , where do i look???
 
open my computer. browse your c: drive until you are at c:/program files/playonline/squareenix/final fantasy XI

Copy and paste the path from the address line into the 0001 value
 
I'm anticipating your next question. Right click on the 0001 value to edit it. It brings up a window to fill in the value.

Dang, the same error that i posted on the other page is coming up again, oh and im on PC lol

the error occurs right when it goes to step 2 the downloading. after the preparing update screen when it goes to download it instantly has that error >.<
 
Try running scandisk. If that doesn't work, I'm stumped.

Edit: Check all options. You're looking to recover bad sectors.
 
k i did the scandisk, checked all options on the scandisk, restarted cpu because it told me too and it still doesnt work. the error still pops up >.< (and when i restarted CPU it did do some check thing)
 
It would appear yer SOL, best bet is to make sure you backup win.ini and win.cfg and uninstall/resinstall. Somewhere along the way it either skipped data or you got corrupted data. Either way without analyzing every little bit of the incoming and outgoing data to see where there's a break or going through god knows what to find a bad CRC it's easier to just suck it up and enjoy the 10hrs of updating from scratch v.v
