Problems with the Counter Strike community

I just started getting into the whole counter strike game and discovered how much fun it is. And so i decided to expand a little and got the famous Mod Garrys Mod, and began to surf there forums. Its filled with complete assholes that all they do is try to flame on you about any little thing you say and do. I went off to other forums only to see the same thing. I don't understand whats wrong with these people that endolge themself in this game. I'm gunna avoid CS forums as best as i can for now on. Going on FFXI forums like this one ppl are really nice and won't try to flame you for every little thing. I suppose FPS games and MMORPGs can change a persons additude toward other ppl in differnt ways.

I'm 17 so yeah the maturity level there is kinda off. Its funny when people start to flame mid game and all i do is sit there and watch, and think what idiots

Also the CS hardcore community is built in clans. They work much like high school clicks. IF you aren't a part of this click then you will be put down etc.. Surprisingly though the majority of them are older but they act all gay just out clickyness and things like that. I'd say from all the lan centers I've been to and people I've known that play this they are mostly college people and they have high pride in their skills and hate most of the other players for one reason or another.

I don't play Counterstrike, but the Halo 2 online community is much the same. Out of the top 1000 ranked players, 900 or so of them are kids between the ages of 10 and 15, because they have nothing better to do than sit infront of a TV and play Halo all day.

I really enjoy going into a game and hearing a 12 year old who hasn't hit puberty try to talk smack to me. I just cuss him out in the pregame lobby, then own him in the match. That normally shuts them up really quickly. Try to let your skills do the talking. Its much more respectable. I often sway from this motto, but its still something good to try and live by.
