Promyvion - Mea, hints please.

Today, our LS did Promyvion - Mea 2 times... failed 2 times ><

Our setup was: Rng, Rng, Rng, Blm, Rdm, Smn.

Getting to the boss wasent that hard. a few agroes, but quickly killed.
Everything was running pretty good in the BC. anima was used, rng's 2hr'ed, and so did SMN.

Actually, everything went smoothly, until the boss reached 20-30% HP... then it seriusly spammed its AoE "Carousel" or whatever the name is.
Being a taru blm, with only 310HP, a AoE that does 230-250 dmg is a little too much to handle.
It was more or less the same death order both times... first a rng, then another rng, next rdm, blm, rng, smn.
It only had like 5% hp left both times. but we just couldent keep our HP up against it.
Both times the boss have been water based, so I only had Thunder to use against it....
What are we doing wrong...
I've even heard that this is supposed to be the easy one ><

Please help us out with a few hints, if there is any.
Right now, it just dont feel right with a lvl 30 cap.
 
Well, I'm no expert on the subject, but when I did Dem, the deciding factor was that we didn't use our animas until the end of the battle.
For the first 1/2 to 2/3 or the battle, the boss is a pushover. Rarely uses skills. Then all of a sudden they go berserk, and everything goes to all hell.
That's when you want those animas and two-hours. Take him down quickly. Using them at the beginning of the fight would've been a major waste in our case.
 
Yeah what he said is good. Use animas mainly when hes at that low hp range where he starts spamming AoE.

All 3 r good for this situation. Psycho intimidates him for 20 or 30 secs. terro makes him run around doing nothing. And hysterro stops a few tp attacks.
 
Anima's are definately your saving grace in these fights. When my party did it, all six of us had one of each anima. We DID use them at the beginning of the fight, however since all 6 of us had them we pretty much shut the boss down for the entire 3 minute fight.

PT setup was NIN, WAR, DRK, BLM, SMN, WHM (The poor WHM didn't get barely any face time ; ;). Seriously, any party will work with the animas cuz like I said, we completely shut it down.....absolutly no attacks coming from it at all.

Only about half of our pt had all animas.. I only had 2, and so did another.
Also, we did the fight twice, without regaining new anima, so we were down to half supply at 2nd fight.

No wonder it went bad... next time, its full anima all the way.
 
On mea i think the best to use was terroanima, since you should be kiting him anyways having him run wildly for 30 seconds really helps and stops the AoE spamming.
 
Of course my pt won with only Hysterroanima. It stopped 2 AoEs. But that would be because our set up was War/Nin, Smn, Smn, Smn, Whm, Sam/Rng

The avatars were main tank but one AoE ended up killing them all.
I(war) had to 2 hr and ended up dieing. 2 of the smns died after 2 of their astral flows. Sam died after 2 WS of 2 hr. 3rd smns 2nd astral flow finally killed him. We cut it quite close and would not have won without 3 smns.
 
Yeah I won mea as a whm, but the victory was bittersweet, I helplessly watched Dave the ranger get smmacked for a while while i was drinking my hi-potion, by the time i could cast he bit the dust. Good thing he didn't lose 5k exp.
 
I'm doing promy mea tommorrow (Friday) about 5 p.m EST.Me and my whm friend have 3 animas each and we also have a smn with 3 animas so send /tell if u need it.We need a tank and 2 more summoners.
 
Here are some hints from when I did it. My part was 2 Nins, Rng, Mnk, Drg, Whm <me> No one died and I didn't have to use my 2 hr.

Everyone bring anidotes(sp). The Pioson AOE is nasty.
Hi- either and Hi-potions are a must.

Whm Regen is your best friend. Regen everyone as much as possible.

I only used cure 1+2. The one time I used cure 3 I got massive hate.

It is very hard for the tanks to hate.

At the end everyone was in the yellow and a couple under 100hp. I was about to use Benediction when the thing falls downs. :lol:
