Proposition to sculli

Instead of removing the flameboard, make it invisible to everyone. That way all of the topics and posts aren't deleted and if a desision to revive it ever comes back you don't lose all of the old stuff.

Just a thought that popped into my mind, I know this is possible.

There is some very useful content on the Flameboard, no doubt. Unfortunately it's totally drowned out by FB-type posts, and I am not willing to carry the FB legacy forward by archiving it.

what about archiving or at least moving some of the FB threads so that theyre not lost, theres tons of useful debate and stuff in there, probably anything over 350-400 replies threads should stay or at least get saved.

I also believe that the flameboard should be archived. If it is flat-out deleted, a long record of events is also lost. There are a lot of things that might need to be quoted on later, or referenced, but will be unable to be if the flameboard is deleted, so who will know fact from fiction, without a past "flame" to look back on what had been said in the past.

Aside from the crap, the flameboard was an important part of QCDN.

I could be wrong, but if a thread has 350+ replies on the FB, then chances are that over half of them are nothing but noise. I haven't read every single FB thread, but I doubt that the FB could have produced 350+ useful replies on any topic.

Having said that, I am willing to move useful threads out of the FB, clean them up, and post them elsewhere. Though I do not have the time to determine which are useful and which are not. Please PM me links to threads.

Sculli, your giving us a 7 hours to cull threw 2000+ topics? Can we have an extension? Maybe a select few of us have access for a week or two. Cause there are some that were classic and serve a purpose. Make it like an LS forum so that we have some time to cull the sewage. That sounds reasonable.
I will set something up late tonight that will remove the FB from the public eye and create a FB-Recycling board where those topics that were rescued from demise will be saved.

Sorry, flames will only spill out however much Sculli lets you. You, because I personally have no problems controlling myself. The flameboard is the QCDN mentality's problem. If flames spill out, you're finished here and good riddance to whoever it may be. This board doesn't need an archive of how low it went, and it's not like people will forget it anyway. Archiving the FB does nothing. You should give admin a little more credit than to try to give him a way out of this "mistake." Should QCDN die without a flameboard, honestly what good was it ever?

It depends on your definition of low. I consider some of the high points to be on the flameboard as well. Admittedly the quality flames that were worth readins and something constructive may have come from were in a 1:100 ratio or worse, but that does not mean that there is nothing of value on the flameboard, just little of value.

Besides i recall alot of those low points were peregrine vs qcdn, perhaps you don't want anyone looking at those?

I don't need qcdn reputation when QCDN has a bad reputation honestly. What I do here needs not be hidden from anyone. Half think it's funny. Half think it's stupid. The only people who it irks are those who are part of the problem. I could tell you it's all an act to show you how low QCDN has fallen, but of course no one will buy that for a minute. Doesn't stop it from being quite true. Just watch. I have 0 problems with there being no flameboard, and no flamers. Not one.

have you actualy put any thought into WHY people flame you? 40,000 frenchmen cant be wrong, or however it goes. Certain people just dont belong on these forums, which is made readily apparant by A) you getting shot down at every turn, or B) people just getting fed up with it and pretending you dont exist.

refering to the thread, started by sculli, in which he gave out a 10% coupon for BUYING GIL.
never had a problem with the ad banner, i just ignored them like i do every other banner/popup everywhere else. But a POST by an ADMIN is somthing different.
But this was already beat to death in the thread itself (which he put on the flameboard to start with. If he knew what it meant, why post it?)
