Pros and Cons of Dragoon and Ninja

i agree w/ some of the NIN parts, but why on earth would you even say that DRG lacks defining use in end game. Angon alone owns, let alone the damage that some DRGs i've seen output. Both Eles alone have shown that you can do alot to output major numbers let alone Angon a HNM so the rest can output insane numbers as well. This alone makes DRG a nice addition to end game, if they are good.
Yah... not so much. DRGs don't get invited to end game shells, NINs with DRG leveled do.

Can I just say, it's sad that DRGs still get a bad rap. They are not the lolpurple gimps they once were. In fact, most of the parses I've seen with DRGs show them being number one or two in dmg dealt. (AND YES YOU INCLUDE PET DMG). Yes I will conceed that penta thrust might not be the best ws for end game but DRGs still have very good DoT AND as mentioned before Angon is awesome. The 2-handed updated helped DRG alot.

I had some fool try to tell me he was out parsing a drg in some exp party he was in and when I checked it and added the pet dmg in the drg was kicking his ass. And this guys response, "Well, you don't count the pet dmg". WTF, of course you do, its part of the whole package. I also see a lot of DRG/WHM and DRG/NIN running around and of course they will parse gimp. So would a WAR/WHM or a DRK/WHM. They have gimp subs for DD. A DRG/WAR or DRG/SAM parses very well even with decent gear.

I'm not some crazy DRG supporter and mine is level 1. But when I see the numbers, all I hear is alot of ignorant people talking shit they don't know nothing about, other then what they heard in 2004.

Con of Drg:

You're still a drg no matter how good you are.

Con of Ninja:

If you didn't level ninja back before everyone knew it was good, at least one person on the way to 75 will call you a bandwagon ninja whore.

NIN is great fun, and despite the 'high demand' mentioned before, practically every other person seams to have a 75 NIN <.< so, don't believe them. EXPing/Merits its pretty easy to grab invites, which is nice.

Haven't done and DRG yet, but it looks fun imo, always did. Just never been as high as my other jobs, but then again I dinged 74 SAM last night and never expected to have that as my 4th to 75 XD

Please add in that you are Eleib and are not the average DRG. kthnx <3

:bb:doesn't change the fact that its true. i would say /blu is better then /whm due to the fact that the stat pluses from the blu spells make up for the non /melee sub.

Neither do solo Sam, War, anyrandom DD job by itself. Your point? I have seen quite a few BLMonly get rejected from HNM shells. DRG might not be able to parse as well DMG wise in end game situations, however to say that they have limited use is foolish. They have many tools at their disposal to make them useful as well as many other DD jobs.

Regarding baj's comment, I misinterpreted what Lavi said when stating solo. I misread that for soloable.

You comment on how DRG would have to TP on HNMs in order to WS. How much different would that be if it were a WAR, MNK, or any other DD job not subbing SAM for meditate?

So, are all of you guys on the same Linkshell or how does that work now?
(been gone from the game toooo long)

Most people who speak on QCDN are in differing or competing linkshells. We generally put aside the competition ingame to bash each other on grammar, social skills, personal hygeine, sexuality or eliteness here on the forum. Keep in mind theres a vast silent majority of non-entities who dont care to, or are unable to, articulate their own opinions but that will read what you write, and whom you will party with ingame. Fortunately, most of the people here you wont be partying with for a long time if youre just starting out - unless they're levelling a new job, a sub, or trying for a maat's cap in which case they'll likely blow past your level range in a day.

Also, keep in mind you cant start as drg or nin, those need to be unlocked after level 30, which can take some time to achieve.

personally I wouldn't worry too much about the people that read what you write, you're just a starting player; most of the silent people are just those keeping an eye out for possible trash or keep up with events on the Flameboard(try to stay away from that >_>; ).

It's fairly irrelevant, what nation will you start in, any job requires a decent amount of gil to level. If you can tell us your nation you want to start we can find good quests you can repeat for gil. Usually it's bring X amount of one item for a low amount of money but it adds up.

I'm thinking of starting out in San D'oria
either that or windurst

Thinking of just starting out simple with an Elvaan warrior
or Mithra thief

This. And I'd rather not just "give out" information on the jobs when you're perfectly capable of reading up on the jobs yourself. That's how I learned, and we've all got to start somewhere. Also, I'm lazy.

Here's some good information on the jobs, keep in mind some of the info is outdated, though most of it is still valid nonetheless.

Read some of the guides and/or posts and research the jobs. Although research on the jobs gear wise won't be that necessary until they're unlocked, it's still a good idea to be prepared and know what to look out for.

Just one more thing, I know people don't have much when they first start, but for the love of god make sure you have decent gear, and that goes for any job in general. Too many people have given these jobs a bad name by gimping themselves beyond comprehension, and I'd hate to have to disown one of my own brethren because of poor gear choices. If you've got any specific questions about either of the jobs feel free to send me a pm. Hope this helps.

I could have said the same about the points you tried to make regarding my first post. But I keep the immature flamebait out of this section, try to do the same ok? Unless you enjoy the mindless drabble that gets deleted by the mods 1/2 a day later.

My points are valid, you don't like them? Don't read it. Not everyone can have an elitest attitude that bases their respect on people in game based on their job qualities rather than their overall game play. In my opinion DRG have good in game qualities that are respectable and have their uses in end game.

Thank you very much everyone for all the helpful info :)
and thank you StanDarsh for that link, I'll be sure to read up on it :)

my copy of ff11 didn't come today, so hopeful I'll be on tomorrow seeing some of you ^-^

He'll be named Gavin.
I already checked and it's available so that'll be the name for my ingame toon
should be on around mid day tomorrow, or whenever UPS arrives with my copy :)

I play a DRG and i have to say i love it.
Its definitely come a long way from when I first played the class back in 2004. Damage is higher. DRG dmg per hit may not necessarily be as high as other classes, but we catch up with other melee classes through the use of our jumps and our higher accuracy. People say that DRG is gimp but dont believe them, I've partied with jobs 2 levels higher (im not level 51) and I consistently match if not do more than them, and thats before wyvern dmg is included. =)

So young, so naïve!
