I used that dust removing air can thingy. I forget the name >_>

Did that did nothing, I ended up goofing around flashfreezeing stuff with the rest of the air, hahaha.

I looked at the guide, seems they use a can of compressed air too hehe.

Odon did you're ps2 play any CDs at all? ;x

Nope, haha. I'm going to take it apart and fix it tonight I think, after the ks99 incase i fuck something up.

If it didnt play anything, even the guide says it might not work >.> Just sparying with the can certainly wont. You should try the later parts of the guide with the lens gear and all heh

I've done it all before tyrath =) I just need to do it again :p

I see. Well have fun!

Luckily for me, just a quick spray of the air can fixes my problems. I only had trouble playing ps2 discs

As for the lens cleaning, I've found that a q-tip (or any cotton swab) and a little rubbing alcohol works wonders on cleaning that little thing up, just be sure not to nudge the lens out of place, and you may even want to go across it with a drop of water on another cotton swab to remove any film the alcohol left behind, then just be sure to remove any dust/particles the swabs may have left behind as well.

I'm actually having a problem with my PS2 reading any minidiscs, and also my HDD. from what I've seen, the browser got reverted to the default one, instead of the one required for POL and FFXI. Wish I could find the disc to reinstall it.

It says in the manual to not put minidiscs in a PS2

Manual says for no odd-shaped discs or minidiscs, like heart or star. But regular ones are ok. It's worked fine for about 2 years until the browser reverted back to the old one instead of the one needed for FFXI to run. But the minidisc was for my expanded memory card. ><

Well, it seems as if every day it plays less and less games/movies. I'm debating on if I should try to fix it now, and risk not being able to play anything at all if I screw it up, or if I should wait until I hit rock bottom and can't play anything anyway.

Luckily I found a nice name brand DVD player for $30, and for the most part, I just play FFXI on the PS2. I did however borrow God of War from my brother, and can't play it....torturous I tell ya.

I just need to install the browser again if I find the disc, because it plays games just fine, but the browser reverted back to some way old one, not even close to normal. The HDD itself is fine, I checked that it "worked" in another PS2 and my shit is still on there, but stuff doesn't launch on it because of the browser I believe, not being correct, but still being higher than what my PS2 is using. God I need that disc ><

Just want to confirm, I used that guide to do the later parts with the tweaking of the height of the disc spinning thing, and well, after trying it a few times my game works again now! Guess it wasnt the dust afterall >_> The guide rocks ^^
