well my ps2 HDD crashed and my ps2 will no longer detect that it is there is there a fix for this or am i out of luck till i get a new HDD or a new system (PS3, Xbox 360)?

If the head slammed into the disk, the disk is fucked. It might also just be a problem with the network adapter(my roommate's stopped working a few weeks back for no reason), but either way if it's a hardware problem(which it probably is), then there's not going to be a fix. You're probably going to have to replace something, either the HDD, the network adapter, or just get a PS3/360.

You might also check to verify the connection to the hard drive and the adapter. I've had it come loose before from sliding the hard drive into the PS2 before.

Could always try something basic first like running the disc that came with the hard drive to see if it is something as simple as a reformat/reinstall.

Had 3 ps2 do this. Only fix is to get a new HDD. On different note heard on different site they stop making the ps2 compatible ps3.

How do i load my PS2 FFXI information onto a HDD in a PS3. (also placing this in PS3 froum)

Same happened to me, so I tested the adapter and the HDD on another ps2. Seems like the ports to the ps2 is all screwed up -_-....rest works though.

Put the discs in, lol.

The only problem is you have to keep them in, at least that's what I've been told. Maybe I'm thinking xbox 360, dunno.

nope, I have ffxi installed on the PS3

First install POL viewer/ffxi main.

Then pop in the expansions and run ffxi. On the login screen click, "Install Hardware"

I think you can figure out the rest =P

If you meaning macros, photos and things like that, you can't. In fact even if you got a new ps2 they would be erased. If you mean installing you would istall it just how you did on the first ps2 except won't need the key code.

You poor bastard. You just lost everything you've done in the game. Now you have to buy another HDD and start the game all over.

=)
